WEEKEND
The lyrics of GARNET CROW's song "WEEKEND" depict a bittersweet story of unrequited love and longing. The opening lines speak of a person who hasn't changed since their first meeting, someone with clear eyes and a complexion that perfectly suits the transparent sky. This person seems to beckon towards a new tomorrow. As nostalgic ballads play through the headphones, the singer's heart becomes intertwined with the music, leading them to cry and yearn for connection. But even in this changing weekend sky, they are unable to reach the person they long for, who is crying alone nearby in the same city that seems both close and distant.
The song continues with the recognition that seasons quietly change and time flows calmly, with the singer merely observing. The relationship between the two people seems to have reached a point of resignation, with no possibility of moving forward or getting any closer. The love that was given so much thought and care now feels empty and unable to provide solace to the person who is struggling. Despite knowing that their prayers won't reach, the singer still wishes for the person's happiness, never forgetting them. The weekend brings a mix of emotions, with a sense of helplessness and a tender longing that the singer holds onto.
Overall, "WEEKEND" is a heartfelt song that delves into the pain of unrequited love and the yearning for a connection that seems just out of reach. It explores the complexities of relationships and the emotional struggles that can arise from longing for someone who may not reciprocate those feelings.
