Prior to their official debut as GOT7, members Jaebeom and Jinyoung debuted as a special project unit entitled JJ Project in May of 2012. Additionally, four of the remaining five members of the group appeared on the September 6, 2013 episode of MNET's reality-survival program WIN: Who Is Next, where they competed against trainees from rival company YG Entertainment. Their appearance on the show gained the group many fans among netizens.
The group released their debut mini-album Got It? on January 20, 2014. The group made their first comeback in June that same year with the release of their second mini-album GOT♡, featuring the lead single "A". In October of 2014 the group ventured into the Japanese market with the release of their debut Japanese-language single AROUND THE WORLD.
The group released their first full-length studio album Identify in December of 2014, lead by the title track "하지 하지마 (Stop stop it)".

It sounds like a sad song but on the v live they said it really isn’t after you listen. I think he will be okay 💓 on the v live BamBam said he feels like this song isn’t sad anymore and it’s about moving forward as well as resolving your anger then Youngjae said that was right and said BamBam understood the song. I hope this’ll comfort us and lessen our worry for Youngjae 💚💚💚

I feel like Youngjae has been alot something might've happened in his past which he can't forget maybe I just want to say that he really makes relatable songs which I love about him it's good to know people feel the same and we should always reach for help to everyone .my life was also saved by messages of a song and I knew I'm not alone and there are other people going through the same and fought my way
