Their song "All Will Be Well" off of the 2005 EP Live at World Cafe rose to moderate prominence when it was used in promos for the NBC show Conviction.
The band released their debut album for Fantasy Records, The Gabe Dixon Band, in August 2008. In its initial days of release, it has received praise from the music press and fellow artists. The band toured the United States from Aug 2008 through Nov 2008 with native New Yorker turned Canadian resident, newcomer Justin Nozuka.
The song Find My Way was the opening track to the film The Proposal (2009) starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.
Gabe Dixon is also currently a member of the band Supertramp (as of Fall, 2010).
Gabe's solo album, One Spark, will be released on August 23, 2011. The album is produced by Marshall Altman and will feature a duet with Alison Krauss.

Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand, oh
I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
Yeah, I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
Huh! and that ain't cool
Huh hey hoe, I heard you shot your mama down
Hey Joe, I heard you shot your lady down
You shot her down in the ground yeah!
Yeah!
Yes, I did, I shot her
You know I caught her messin' round messin' round town
Huh, yes I did I shot her
You know I caught my old lady messin' 'round town
And I gave her the gun
And I shot her
Alright
Shoot her one more time again baby!
Yeah!
Oh dig it
Oh alright
Hey Joe,
Where you gonna run to now where you gonna go
Hey Joe, I said
Where you gonna run to now where you gonna go
I'm goin' way down south
Way down to Mexico way
Alright
I'm goin' way down south
Way down where I can be free
Ain't no one gonna find me
Ain't no hang-man gonna
He ain't gonna put a rope around me
You better believe it right now
I gotta go now
Hey, Joe
You better run on down
Goodbye everybody
Hey hey Joe
The Gabe Dixon Band's song "Hey Joe" is a cover of the popular song by Jimi Hendrix. The song tells the story of a man named Joe who is on his way to shoot his old lady because he caught her cheating on him with another man. The lyrics are dark and intense, conveying a sense of violence and desperation. The singer of the song seems to be either Joe himself or an observer of Joe's actions, and the words are delivered with powerful emotion.
The lyrics of the song are open to interpretation, but most listeners will take them as a warning against violence and revenge. The chorus of the song, "Hey Joe, where you going with that gun in your hand?" is repeated several times, emphasizing the danger of Joe's actions. The lyrics touch on themes of jealousy, betrayal, and the breakdown of trust in a relationship. The song is a powerful reminder that violence is never a solution to problems in a relationship and can only lead to more pain and suffering.
