This dude is really talented. Career evolution. He is like the male country version of Adele. I am not even a huge country fan.. His music and new album has shown so much growth and musical direction. Four years ago on August 6th, 2019 I watched my best friend endure a stillborn birth of a baby girl. She named Gabriella Marie. It hurt me as her best friend. My 17 yr old German Shorthaired Pointer passed away 4 months ago. Her name was Gabby and I called her Gabrielle. I adopted her from a dog shelter in South Korea where she had been there in a cage for 4 years. I volunteered there every other weekend in 2009 and shipped her back home to the States in Nov2009. I fell in love with her the first time I looked in her eyes. It was love at first sight. She’s look up at the blue skies and stop to smell the flowers no matter where we were. I heard this the other day for the first time and bawled my eyes out.

Edit: the morning she passed she had a couple of seizures. She seemed to be recovering very well. We took our nap as usual. When I woke up she had passed away right next to me. It broke my heart.

I watched your video Brett on mental health and I get it, you are 100% right. Living life in what seem like a fish bowl sometimes as well for myself at least I just need to have retreat and just be around my closest few in my inner circle. I have to have a personality that is always ON when in the public eye, and they have to know all about you. Its tiring at times and wish you could disappear. The most important thing is to stay grounded and be around the people you love and trust that have seen you at your most basic steipped down emotional state and love you anyway. Those people are good. Jesus is better. Tell him everything, he loves you and wants to be there with you.

Q: When did you know the album was finished?
A: I wrote so many songs for this, but I wrote the song “Paris Illinois” the day before we left to go to Paris on our way to Chicago and it felt like the perfect way to end a life-changing writing journey
