2). Gaia is an alias of dutch trance producer Armin van Buuren. It was first used back in 2000 for an uplifting trance track produced for the 4 Elements festival in Holland, also titled 4 Elements. He abandoned the majority of his aliases soon after and focused on producing under his own name. However, in 2009 he resurrected the Gaia alias with Tuvan, a track produced with Benno de Goeij from Rank 1 exclusively for his A State of Trance 2009 compilation that had many parallels with his classic work. In 2010 he continued the tradition by producing Aisha for the A State of Trance 2010 compilation, also featuring heavily in the 450th episode of his radioshow.

Steve G joined in 2008 after the departure of long time serving drummer Steve Booth and the band are back on fire with a new album, "Sun into gold"due out in 2010 after four years since their first album attempt namely "Soulwind". This next attempt is simply more than before and has been a pleasure to create. Gaia will be gigging regularly over the next year promoting and selling what will be the bands best work so far.

I may be just a little young and naïve but it's all right
Through my life though it might not be too long at least I know
The difference between you and someone who loves someone
And I know you know I'm sorry and all that La de da de da
But all these butterflies are making me feel high, goodbye
And I know that I'm no barbie and all that la de da de da
Mariposa ahh ahh
Mariposa
Almost too many mariposas
Sometimes I sit here and think I'm dumb
Cause time and time again I see your face and want to run
People tell me steer clear you know what he's done
But I can't help but think that maybe I'm the one
And I know you know I'm sorry and all that La de da de da
But all these butterflies are making me feel high, goodbye
And I know that I'm no barbie and all that la de da de da
But while my eyes are on the prize will you ever be my one?
Mariposa ahh ahh
Mariposa
Almost too many mariposas
Mariposa ahh ahh
Mariposa
Almost too many mariposas
Todas las noches
No te quiero en mis manos
Y eso está bien
And I know you know I'm sorry and all that La de da de da
But all these butterflies are making me feel high, goodbye
And I know that I'm no barbie and all that la de da de da
But while my eyes are on the prize will you ever be my one?
Mariposa ahh ahh
Mariposa
Almost too many mariposas

In the song "Mariposa" by Gaia, the lyrics express the singer's realization of their youth and naivety, acknowledging that they may not have much life experience, but that's alright. They are aware of the difference between themselves and someone who truly loves another person. This reflects a sense of self-awareness and introspection, as the singer recognizes their own limitations and understanding of love.
The lyrics also describe a feeling of being intoxicated by the presence of someone they love. The mention of butterflies represents the overwhelming sensations and excitement that this person brings into their life. The singer acknowledges their own apologies, perhaps for their past mistakes or shortcomings, while also recognizing that they are not perfect or flawless like a Barbie doll. Their focus is on the goal, on achieving the love they desire, and they question if this person will ever become their one true love.
The repetition of "Mariposa" throughout the song adds to the overall theme, reflecting on the abundance of butterflies. The word "Mariposa" itself means butterfly in Spanish, which can be seen as a metaphor for the fluttering and exhilaration that comes with love. However, there is a hint of uncertainty and hesitancy, as the singer also mentions almost having too many butterflies, indicating that they may be overwhelmed by their feelings.
Towards the end of the song, the lyrics switch to Spanish, adding an additional layer of emotion and depth. The line "Todas las noches, no te quiero en mis manos, y eso está bien" translates to "Every night, I don't want you in my hands, and that's alright." This line suggests a sense of acceptance and self-awareness in the singer, acknowledging that they can't possess or control the person they love, but they are okay with it.
In summary, "Mariposa" delves into themes of youth, naivety, self-awareness, and the intoxicating effects of love. The lyrics express the singer's introspection about their own understanding of love, the excitement and longing they feel for someone, and the acceptance of not being able to control or possess that person completely.
