This song really makes me cry, I've only listened to it twice as of writing this, but both times it made me think of a dog my family had to recently put down.

She was laid to rest on June 30, 2022 after a fight broke out with her and another dog of mine, getting beat up real bad.

As of writing this, I am still mourning her passing since she was with me for 10 years. Every time I hear this I think of the scene that happened as well as the good times I've had with her beforehand.

I'll miss her.

Rest in Peace Roxy.

Emma is the only Pokègirl that I basically almost cried for just because of her story and plot. Though the ending was weird and she never plays a role ever again after the looker missions. She is still my #1 Pokègirl.

Emma, N and Lillie are, in my opinion the 3 best characters in Pokémon. So well written in their gens and they never felt like just another bland ego boost for the main character. We need one of these 3 back for another game please

Another amazing character would be Silver from gen 2. He starts off as an ignorant, weak trainer. He steals a starter Pokémon from Professor Elm's lab and uses that to battle you. When you win the first fight against him, all he does is blame his Pokémon for being weak. When you encounter him later at Sprout Tower, the Sage at the top tells Silver that his fighting style is too rough on his Pokémon, but Silver disregards his advice for being a weak mindset. You encounter Silver more times throughout the game, rarely changing throughout most of your adventure. But after being beaten over and over again by both you, and even Lance, he finally starts to consider their words. He finally starts to treat his Pokémon better. Before the Elite Four, you encounter and battle Silver, and it is evident that his team is much stronger than before. He has started to learn to love his Pokémon, just like the player and everyone else. The last time you encounter Silver Is in Mt. Moon. (Or the Pokémon League) He has progressed significantly since the last time you saw him. He has even evolved his Golbat into a Crobat, something you can only do when you have high friendship with your Pokémon. He still has much to learn to get stronger, but Silver is on the right path.

Silver does start off as the bland ego boost as you mentioned, but the special thing about him is was that he was a dynamic and compelling character. I'd say Silver is the best rival in the Pokémon series.
