can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Sun/Moon have to wear protective gear to ride on a charizard who has been specially trained with its own riding equipment to fly around, and then you have Brendon/May riding bareback on the pokemon equivilent of a jet fighter with nothing but their bare hands and the raw power of their thighs.

Personally for me, RSE is the more traditional route for veterans wanting the challenge of Hoenn, while ORAS is more modern and for casual fans who enjoy the adventure of Hoenn.

Each version of the Gen 3 games has their pros and cons, but are enjoyable in both similar and different ways.

So while I was disappointed about the Battle Frontier being scrapped for the Battle Mason, things like the additional ends in stories, the Poke Radar and the Soaring mechanic are welcomed highlights.

Oh, man...this track. Boy do I love this track.

When ORAS first came out, I didn't get a game for like a month because I didn't have the money. (lol) When I did get Alpha Sapphire, I was going through some pretty rough times, and I was pretty depressed. I tried to find some solace in this game, but even that didn't do much to lift my mood; I initially didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. When I finally got the Eon Flute and soared for the first time, however, the feeling of being able to fly over Hoenn coupled with such amazing music made my spirits soar. (pun intended) I proceeded to soar as much as I could, because it was my getaway from the stuff going on in my life.

Sapphire was my first Pokémon game, so it's dear in my heart. It's truly fitting that the remake, especially this song, pulled me out of some pretty dark times.

And I’ve played every other game since then, but this game honestly was the most meaningful to me.
Like, there was so much LORE in this game and just the FEELING of the game was different than any other to me.

Theres a reason hoenn is many peoples favorite games. It was such a step above gens 1 and 2. It is my opinion that gen 3 is when pokemon as we know it today truly began. Gen 1 was a glitchy proof of concept and gen 2, albeit better and has one of the best postgame in pokemon history, still doesn't stack up in my opinion to the grandeur that was gen 3. (And this is coming from a gen 4 fan)

Following Pokemon makes you connect with your Pokemon of choice more than soaring which makes you fly on a mediocre mega evolution.

Whenever I hear this theme, I get goosebumps. It reminds me of a dream I had as a little kid, of a mainline Pokémon game where you’d be able to fly over the region on the back of a Pokémon.

@Ario It would've been cool if Pokeride worked the same way, but it didn't as we know. I don't think the change in hardware would be the reason for its disappearence. Rather, it would be due to Gamefreak lacking the desire or drive to reimplement a one off feature. But hey, following Pokemon came back after 4 generations, you never know what could happen.

It was an interesting surprise that this was added to the game that I had technically beaten in its original form so many years ago. When I first tried it I didn't know what to expect. @ZacIngo It's not that bad in single player since the AI almost never switches in any Pokemon game, but in multiplayer battles, your opponent can just switch to a Pokemon that resists Flying Type moves since it takes Fly 2 turns to actually land.

I've played every main series pokemon game, since the 90s (up until it hit the Switch at least) and flying over Hoenn to this theme is The. Most. Moving. Experience I have EVER had in the main series (lookin at you, Explorers of Sky, lol). Lugia has been my absolute fave ever since I first saw it, I have always wanted to be able to fly on its back and look down on my old stomping grounds of Johto and Kanto, and this is literally the next best thing. New and nostalgic, and this theme gives me chills every time I hear it. And sometimes tears of joy.

I was 10 years old when I last played this game. School wasn't an issue, I was good at it. I felt happy with my life, I didn't have any worries, I had a ton of friends and I was never bored. This song makes me remember all of that, a lot of songs do that, but this song is attached to a very certain memory that just perfectly encapsulates what life was like back then.

@ThatOneGamingLatias I don't like the anime either but everything before Hoenn was pretty good stuff. The movie after tend to be good, but the main series fell apart when it suffered indecisiveness on where to take Ash's growth as a character.

I cannot even to begin to say how happy I am I got to grow up with this, pokemon was a HUGE part of my childhood this is so nodstalgic i wanna cry, sometimes I wish In real life I could just ride on my latios/latias again through the hoenn region having fun.I really wish pokemon was real because I would be able to maybe do that.

This song is so damn pretty.
I recently started playing alpha again (trying to complete the pokédex (the fact u can pause the pokis there!? So good)).
And this song is just... The best. Who needs fly!?
Also: there is a night version of this. And it's even prettier than this. It's just... Whoever made this soundtrack is a god.

this was my first ever pokemon game i finished, i remember fondly some of my members, the zorua my brother gave me that became my first lvl 100. the mudkip i picked as a starter and the shiny beldom i got as a mystery gift and felt so speicial for having. i remember shiny hunting multiple times but never having the patiants when i was younder to do so; most importantly, and the reson i commented here is that i remember soaring through the skys with the latios i had and thought i needed it to be in my team XD. i lost that cartrige 5 years ago... i'll miss you guys.

@dutchiee that song was all I could think of when I went Soaring in the Sky on Latios for the first time in Omega Ruby.

To make things even more special, I transferred the very first Latios I caught in my Emerald game all the way up to my Omega Ruby game. So the bond with my Pokémon was as strong as Hiccup and Toothless.

This song, and the other, makes me really sad because I lost my Pokemon Omega Ruby copy, it had a very large amount of legendaries and a lot of Pokemon that were precious to me.

Edit: And yes, even though this one is a happy song, it still makes me sad for that reason.

i cant even express how happy this song makes me
when i was in kindergarten my dad got me and my sister into pokemon and our first pokemon video game was omega ruby and alpha sapphire
7 years later, whenever i listen to this song i just want to cry cuz i can just remember flying over the islands on my latios and all the happy times my pokemon games on my little nintendo ds gave me
if this song was a physical thing i would give it the biggest hug

update: im talking to myself out loud abt all the good memories i made w this game and not only how beautiful this song is, how beautiful the memories are, but also just how beautiful this scene of the game was
i remember the sunset and the random black blobs that would have you fight a tailow or smth if you ran into it and im literally bawling my eyes out rn bro i wanna experience the joy of playing this game again
