Unchained Melody
Gene Vincent Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long lonely time

Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you, still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea
To the sea
To the open arms of the sea

Lonely rivers cry
"Wait for me, wait for me"
I'll be coming home wait for me

Oh my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long lonely time

I need your love

I need your love
God speed your love to me

I have loved Rockabilly music since I heard Elvis on my dad's 8-tracks in the 70's. There is a feeling that Rockabilly music can give that no matter how I try to describe it, I can't. This Gene Vincent cover of this song describes exactly why I love Rockabilly. Them guys back in the day didn't need fancy markting to sell there music. Their talent did the marketing. I never even heard this song before tonite and yet I get an eery feeling of deja vu, even a slight tear in my eye.
