Ezra's music is described as deep, bluesy and mournful - particularly in tracks such as "Budapest" - and is peppered with influences from the likes of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. Richard Pitt from BBC Bristol aptly described Ezra as "a young man with the voice of a 50 year old”.
Ezra appeared on the “Introducing...” stage at Glastonbury in 2013 and came fifth in the BBC’s Sound of 2014 poll.

Anyone For You
George Ezra Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She just turned twenty-one
And then I said, "here's my number, hit me up
If you're needing anyone"
And then I could be
Anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone for you
Anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
Be your light
Be your light
Well, I gave her love, but it wasn't enough
So she called me up, just to call it off
I can't afford to make that mistake this time
And if you're flying over the Serengeti
Tiger lily, don't forget me
The way I am, not the way I was, mm
When I could be
Anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone for you
Anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
Be your light
Be your light (light, light, light)
Anyone for you
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
I can love you, I could be
Anything you want of me
And in the darkness of the night
Baby, let me be your light
Be your light (woo)
Be your light (woo)
Oh, I could be your light
The lyrics of "Anyone For You" by George Ezra describe the singer's affection for a woman named Tiger Lily who has recently moved to the city and is just turning 21. The singer gives her his number, offering himself as someone she can call if she needs anyone. He tells her that he can be anyone for her and that he can love her and be anything she wants him to be. The singer then repeats that he can love her and be anything she wants of him, and offers to be her light in the darkness of the night. He reiterates this message several times, suggesting that he is willing to be whatever or whoever she needs him to be.
However, the singer admits that he has made mistakes before and cannot afford to do so again. He asks Tiger Lily not to forget him, and emphasizes that he wants to be seen for who he is now, not who he was in the past. The song ends with the singer repeating his offer to be Tiger Lily's light and to be anything she wants of him.
Overall, the lyrics of "Anyone For You" convey the message of unrequited love and the desire to be everything for someone who may not feel the same way. The singer is willing to change himself to become what Tiger Lily wants, but also recognizes that he cannot force her to feel the same way and accepts that he may be left behind.

Your skin isn't paper, don't cut it
Your neck isn't a coat, don't hang it
Your body isn't a book, don't judge it
Your life isn't a movie, don't end it
Your heart isn't a door, don't lock it
Remember to always love yourself no matter what you come against
(This is not my word, I'm spreading it to the 1% and now its your turn)
