Yesterday seems so far away
Can't remember anything you say
Lying all alone in my empty bed
Got some crazy thoughts running round my head
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la la
Yesterday seems so far away
Can't remember anything you say
Lying all alone in my empty bed
Got some crazy thoughts running round my head
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la la
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
But now I'm a better man
Yeah and I'm moving on
Some of those things you said
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong
La la la la la
Here ain't where I belong

La la la la la la
Here ain't where I belong ah

Overall Meaning

The song "Where" by George S is a reflection on moving on from a past relationship that was filled with negative thoughts and feelings. The first stanza sets the tone, as the singer cannot remember anything the other person said when they were last together, and now they are lying in their empty bed with crazy thoughts running around their head. However, as the chorus kicks in, we see that the singer is now a better person, knowing that they do not belong in the negative environment that once held them down. The phrase "here ain't where I belong" sets the main message of the song: leaving behind the past to become a better version of oneself.

In the second verse, the singer repeats the same feelings of emptiness and confusion before asserting their newfound self-worth. The final repeat of the chorus emphasizes this, as the singer repeats that they are "a better man" now and that they are "moving on" from the negative past. The use of the phrase "la la la" throughout the song implies a sense of lightheartedness despite the somewhat melancholic lyrics.

Overall, "Where" is an empowering song about leaving behind a past that holds one down and becoming a better version of oneself. The use of repetition and catchy melodies makes this message all the more memorable.

Our love is unconditional
We knew it from the start
I see it in your eyes
You can feel it from my heart
From here on after
Let's stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter
That a lifetime will allow
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
You will always be the miracle
That makes my life complete
And as long as there's a breath in me
I'll make yours just as sweet
As we look into the future
It's as far as we can see
So let's make each tomorrow
Be the best that it can be
I cross my heart
And promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
And if along the way, we find a day
It starts to storm
You've got the promise of my love
To keep you warm
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
A love as true as mine

Yes, I'm listening 🎧 and I believe I met that special lady. She makes my heart feel happy especially when I read her letters and she sends me pictures! Although we are miles away from each other 😞 I believe when the time comes we will meet and be happy 😁. She lives in Ukraine and I live in the USA. But, I believe love knows no boundaries! Thank you George strait for such a wonderful and meaningful song.
