1. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Georgia Barnes. Born and raised in a deeply musical household in north west London, Georgia combined music study at London's SOAS with a stint working on the counter at Rough Trade and quickly made a lot of very natural musical connections, being invited to play drums with DIY innovators such as Kwes and Kate Tempest. Georgia herself is a warm, compelling, malleable voice as believable a sensual soul-bearer as she is raucous provocateur.
2. The band Georgia has steadily created a loyal fanbase over the last few years. Comprised of three brothers and a close friend all from the south, they are currently signed with Atlantic Records. They released an EP called the Cabin Sessions Vol. 1, which was recorded live in 2007 while at a log cabin in Blue Ridge, Ga. They have since been working on their first full studio album, recording in LA. More information can be found at www.myspace.com/georgia or www.georgia.sunrise-promotions.com.
3. A trance artist: Georgia is a female DJ / producer from Dutch harbour city Rotterdam. As of March 2008, she has two releases. Her first production was a track called 'We Rise', co-produced with 'Stimulator'. This was released in December 2007 along with a dub mix by her from the 'Flashover Recordings' label. Her second production 'Ode to '99' was released in March 2008 under the 'Levare Recordings' label.
4. Georgia was the work of Patti Kim (Meowch / Tel Quel) and Five Seventeen (Toys for Elliot / 5MP) who carefully crafted songs with their 4-tracks in separate houses rather than walk the half-block to each others houses.
5. Also a South African artist (or group).
6. Georgia, real name Gordy Deems, was a lead / rhythm guitarist in the 80s AOR band, Rage n’ Rox.

Better off but I'm hardly wanting to deceive
Tried to knock me once but I felt my heart beneath my soul grow
It's for us that I'll keep on trying to believe
Ooh, when it hits our souls
Give it up for love
Ooh, if you're still not sure
Now and then I get lost in dysphoria
I want your love but I'm worried it's too much for ya
They tried to knock me down 'cause I felt my heart beneath my soul grow
So now I know that I'll keep on trying to believe
Ooh, when it hits our souls
Give it up for love
Ooh, if you're still not sure
Give it up for love, give it up love, give it up for love
Just when I thought I should give up
That's the moment I found love (felt my heart beneath my soul)
Just when I thought I should give up
That's the moment I found love
(Felt my heart beneath my soul)
Ooh, when it hits our souls
Give it up for love
Ooh, if you're still not sure
Give it up for love, give it up love, give it up for love
If you're seeking redemption, if you're seeking Salvation
If you're seeking redemption, if you're seeking Salvation
Just when I thought I should give up (ooh, when it hits our souls)
That's the moment I found love (give it up love)
Just when I thought I should give up (ooh, if you're still not sure)
That's the moment I found love (give it up for love, give it up love, give it up for love)
In the song "Give It Up For Love" by Georgia, the lyrics delve into themes of perseverance, self-doubt, and the power of love. The first verse reflects a constant struggle to find a balance between leaving a situation for the betterment of oneself and staying for the sake of love. The singer acknowledges the inner conflict of wanting to deceive but ultimately choosing to believe in the power of their connection with their partner. The line "Tried to knock me once but I felt my heart beneath my soul grow" suggests that despite facing obstacles, the singer's love only grows stronger.
The chorus emphasizes the transformative nature of love, urging listeners to give themselves over to this powerful force. The repetition of "Give it up for love" reinforces the idea of surrendering to love and allowing it to guide one's actions. The uncertainty and hesitation expressed in the lyrics hint at the vulnerability that comes with opening up to love, but the refrain encourages embracing it wholeheartedly.
The second verse delves deeper into the singer's struggles with self-doubt and fears of overwhelming their partner with their love. Despite facing criticism and attempts to bring them down, the singer finds strength in the growth of their heart and soul. The decision to keep believing in love despite uncertainties and external pressures serves as a testament to the resilience and determination required to navigate the complexities of relationships.
The bridge brings a moment of revelation, where the singer realizes that just when they were on the brink of giving up, they find love. This epiphany underscores the idea that sometimes love manifests in unexpected ways and moments of vulnerability. The repetition of seeking redemption and salvation suggests a deeper spiritual or emotional quest for connection and understanding. Overall, "Give It Up For Love" encapsulates a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the transformative power of love in overcoming obstacles and finding true connection.

I've crossed deserts for miles
Swam water for time
Searching places to find
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
A piece of something to call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you
Ran along many moors
Walked through many doors
The place where I want to be
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Is the place I can call mine (I'm coming)
Coming closer to you
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you
Never been here before
I'm intrigued, I'm unsure
I'm searching for more
I've got something that's all mine
I've got something that's all mine
Take me somewhere I can breathe
I've got so much to see
This is where I want to be
In a place I can call mine
In a place I can call mine
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you
Moving, coming
Can you hear what I hear? (Hear it out of reach)
I hear it calling you
Swimming closer to you
Many faces I have seen
Many places I have been
Walked the deserts, swam the shores (Coming closer to you)
Many faces I have known
Many ways in which I've grown
Moving closer on my own (Coming closer to you)
I move it, I feel it
I'm coming, not drowning
I move it, I feel it
I'm coming, not drowning
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you (Take me to my beach)
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you
I'm coming, not drowning
Swimming closer to you
(Take me to my beach)
I'm moving, I'm coming
Can you hear what I hear
It's calling you, my dear
Out of reach (Take me to my beach)
I can hear it calling you

Georgia, my name is Georgia. I saw you live in Brighton back in 2019. Your music meant a lot to me back then and your music now means just as much to me, if not more. Thank you for your sweet sounding soul.
