The first time I heard Gerald, I was 16 years old. At that time I decent horn player in high school. I heard this jazz cut VIVA TIRADO being played by the band. WOW, WHAT A SOUND! The amazing thing was I wasn't in the club yet, only what I could here from the outside. Followed him ever since. But to my surprise the band was playing down the street where I lived in L.A.

I recorded this album when I was stationed overseas in Thailand. Somewhere along the line I lost the tape. I have heard many versions of Viva Tirado since but this is my absolute favorite. Thank you so much. My 35 year search is over!!!! The trumpet/sax work and piano work simply gives me the chills.. Thank you thank you!
