Beauty Jackson
Ghostface Killah Lyrics

Standing at the bus stop
I heard a voice behind me saying "Hi, baby"
Oh I just fell all apart inside
Because I hadn't heard that voice in such a long time
I turned around

This what happened at the bus stop
She turned around and this grown lady said hi
I was quite stunned from the way she replied
Peace, nice to meet ya, sweetie call me Tony Starks
Ghost if you like ta, mind if invite ya
Over for some red wine, nice Barry White huh
She pulled out a cigarette, hun here's a lighter
Her voice was a slow jam, full length white mink
Hella fine with a beauty mark on her right cheek
When she spoke her smoke floated when it left her throat
Spelled honey when she blew it out it turned to water word
I was infatuated
She put the perfume to her neck and sprayed it
Plus the bottle was nickel plated
It make a young girl steez yo feel outdated
And know the married chicks shopping with they man's hated
One stone on her finger was green, Maybeline
Cover Girl lipstick, plump color fingertips
Revlon face blush, oh-five-six shit
The ashes was hanging off her stog' so she flicked it
Damn, had to bundle up, I call goosebumps
Plus the windchill factor had dropped, here the bus come
I never rush one, here take my number miss

I live alone, her face fell when I dropped the chrome
Damn, can I have your number?

Overall Meaning

The song "Beauty Jackson" by Ghostface Killah tells a story of an encounter between the rapper and a woman at a bus stop. The song starts with the singer standing at a bus stop, feeling a sense of loneliness and longing. Then he hears a voice saying "hi, baby" and recognizes it as a voice that he hasn't heard in a long time. When the singer turns around, he is surprised to see a woman standing behind him who introduces herself as Tony Starks or Ghost.

As the woman talks, the singer becomes infatuated with her. She is described as being beautiful, with a slow-jam voice, and she is smoking a cigarette. The woman invites the singer over for some red wine and uses a perfume that turns to water when she blows it out. The singer is clearly taken by her, and he gives her his number before they both go their separate ways.

The song is a reflection of the loneliness that people can feel in daily life, and how meeting someone new can make life a little less lonely. The woman in the song is a symbol for beauty and hope, something that the singer was missing before their encounter. Damn Ghost is the greatest. He just paints this woman so vividly, he goes on for a whole song about what she looked like while most rapper will spit a line about a girl. Not to mention Dilla's production; that twinkly, dreamlike state he puts us in is the perfect backdrop for Ghost to blow our minds. Truly one of the greatest rappers ever.

I wish this song was at least two minutes longer. Dilla and Ghost are a powerful, sexy combination!

This song is just pure hip hop gold, a tiny little gem. I love the original Three Degrees song, I love the way it fits into the Donuts album, and I really really really love the way Ghostface sprinkled his magic on it. Songs like these make a case for Tony as one of the, say, top 20 all time great MC's

Black Man Rising

Ghostface and Dilla collabs are like anti-matter!
