Gimp Lyrics

1234

He wakes up sad again
He wonders when the rain will end
(Maybe tomorrow)
She'll act like she don't care
To her it's just a game
That he plays
(Till he's saying:)

I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast
But I don't care
But I don't care
I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast
But I don't care

All the times he said he would
She never really understood what he meant
(What he said)
He'll find himself alone
Standing in the rain
(And I'm saying:)

I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast
But I don't care
But I don't care
I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast
But I don't care

He wakes up sad again
He wonders when the rain will end
(Maybe tomorrow)
She'll act like she don't care
To her it's just a game
(That he plays)
All the times he said he would
She never really understood what he meant
(What he said)
He'll find himself alone
Standing in the rain

Hey Hey Hey Hey
Thanks for all the sadness
(Hey!) Hey thanks for all the madness
(Hey!) Hey thanks for all you gave me
(Hey!) Hey thanks for trying to save me
(Hey!) Hey thanks for all the sadness
(Hey!) Hey thanks for all the madness
(Hey!) Hey thanks for trying to save me
(Hey!) Hey thanks for all you gave me

I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast
But I don't care
But I don't care
I'm a super
I'm a nothing
I'm a no one
Going nowhere fast

But I don't care
Yeah yeah…

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Gimp's song 'Supernothing' tell a story of a person who wakes up sad and wonders when the rain will end, indicating a state of feeling hopeless and downcast. The next line suggests that the person's partner or someone close to them does not seem to care which could be taken as a lack of support. The lines 'I'm a super, I'm a nothing, I'm a no one, going nowhere fast, but I don't care' are repeated throughout the song, indicating that the person has given up on trying to be someone and is resigned to their position. They are determined to remain optimistic despite their circumstances.

The song's lyrics reflect the frustrations, disappointments and challenges of everyday life. The person who is described in the song feels defeated and unhappy, but they still find a way to stay positive by remaining indifferent towards whatever it is they are facing. The lines, "Hey thanks for all the sadness, Hey thanks for all the madness, Hey thanks for trying to save me, Hey thanks for all you gave me" express gratitude towards whoever had previously helped them, even if it wasn't successful.

I wish the 'hey hey hey hey thanks for all the madness...thanks for all the gladness..' part was kept in other versions of this song. Really like that part.

Bradley Bartlett

agree

Whitney Rasco

I agree, but it's 'sadness' and 'madness'.

Brendan Gannon

its great

OleafTheRebel

Well Tomas has and always will be a perfectionist. He’s never satisfied with how his music comes out sonically so he’s always changing things up but yeah I do agree I wish that part was implemented more

Kayothic

Thank you very much for uploading this, as well as the other songs by gimp. Catch-22 and Streetlight Manifesto (as well as B.O.T.A.R. added later) have been my favorite band since my discovery of them in 5th grade, and they've continued to hold that place for 9 years and counting. I forgot about this act of his and it's very nice to hear it again. I just wish I could have seen Thomas play more than once :) Thanks again <3_<3

FockingGinge

I'm crying on the inside because I am afraid that Toh Kay might not ever make such beautiful music again. Please Toh Kay, please continue making your music, for the good of all mankind.

Gavin Kelly

Don't worry about it man, first off. Tomas told many people that after Streetlight he was going to continue B.O.T.A.R. Anyway, if you ask me, I think that once he writes songs for Bandits of the acoustic revolution, he'll do a classic Toh Kay cover of it. and fun fact, down, down, down to mephisto's cafe was originally going to be a Toh Kay song.

Gavin Kelly

Sorry, what I meant was that it was oringally going to be a B.O.T.A.R song.

FockingGinge

Gavin Kelly Well that's the greatest news I have heard in a long time. I still think I will miss the heaviness of Streetlight. They combined so many elements into their music, and it is a shame to see them come to an end. Anyways, I am ecstatic to hear that Toh Kay will continue. I don't know how I missed that news.
