Drinking Song
Gits Lyrics

I fall a little drunk on my face
I get up I brush up I head to the bar
For another round with all of my friends
Here's to 'em To all of my friends
Here's to 'em To all of my friends yeah
Here's to 'em To all of my friends
Step up to the bar we tip the bartender first
Keep 'em filled to the rim
There might be a bit of a brawl that breaks out
But we always leave when we should
So with this pint I toast to you to all of my friends
Keep healthy and good I clench it tight and
I raise it high May the spirits runneth over
And drinks never be denied
I know work is the worst part of the day
But when you get out the fun will pay
So now drink with me to no end
'Cause here we are with the best of our friends
It's all I got left in the end are my friends
God love 'em my fuckin' friends
The lyrics to Gits' song "Drinking Song" depict a person's tendency to over-indulge in alcohol and rely on their friends for support. The song starts with the admission of drinking too much and falling on their face. Despite this, the person gets up, brushes themselves off, and heads to the bar for another round with their friends. The lyrics "Here's to the bastards, the best of my friends" emphasize the importance of their friends in their life and the role they play in this person's excessive drinking habits.
The chorus of the song is a repeated tribute to the person's friends, as they repeatedly say "Here's to 'em, to all of my friends." The person acknowledges that some of their bar interactions may result in a brawl, but they always leave at the right time. The lyrics "May the spirits runneth over, and drinks never be denied" imply the desire for limitless fun and an unending supply of drinks.
Overall, "Drinking Song" is a testament to the joy and reliance on one's friend group while promoting a careless lifestyle of heavy drinking. The song seems to romanticize the idea of getting drunk with friends and reveling in their company.

A friend asked for music suggestions for his wedding reception. My list had 3 categories, including 'songs that'll scare the older relatives away'. It did indeed serve that purpose, and I'll forever remember the 2 of us having a great time thrashing around to this one.
