Closer To You
Glass Tiger Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's sad, you keep me waiting
Listen, hear falling tears
Watching someone replacing
All that you've given to me

To get closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you

Remember one night together
Always meant much more to me
Then came pain with the pleasure
I leave, now you cry for me

To get closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
And closer to you, oh-whoa

I need closer to you
Oh, I want closer to you

Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
I want closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
I need closer to you, oh
(Tell me, tell me something)

You gotta help me, help me
(Tell me, tell me something)
Help me
(Tell me, tell me something)
Closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)
I want closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)

You gotta help me, help me
(Tell me, tell me something)
Help me
(Tell me, tell me something)
I want closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)

I need closer to you
(Tell me, tell me something)

loving this song.

This is a gem of a song that should have been released. Check out the live 1986 Toronto
concert video footage of GT performing this song and "other gems: such as Looking at A Picture, Ancient Evenings, and After the Dance. Great live band and pure magic.

GT is still touring 30 years later but there is an original band member missing from the group. For nostalgic reasons, it would be awesome if original drummer Michael Hanson reunited with the band for a special tour. If you want to see this happen, petition GT by tweeting them and posting on their facebook page. GT fans, let's make it happen.

Michael Hanson is releasing a CD in the Fall. Watch for it
