Maybe This Time
Glee Cast Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Maybe this time, I'll be lucky
Maybe this time he'll stay

Maybe this time, For the first time
Love won't hurry away

He will hold me fast
I'll be home at last
Not a loser, huh
Anymore
Like the last time and the time before

Everybody loves a winner
So nobody loved me
Lady peaceful, lady happy
That's what I long to be
All the odds are
They're in my favor
Something's bound to begin

It's gonna happen ha ha
Happen sometime
Maybe this time I'll win
Cause, everybody, they love a winner

So nobody loved me
Lady peaceful, lady happy
That's what I long to be
All the odds are, they're in my favor
Something's bound to begin

It's gonna happen
Happen sometime
Maybe this time
Maybe this time
I'll win

I'll win
Win!

The way they sing the song... It's like complete opposites. Lea's version is more like "I don't think so but there could be a chance..." while Kristin's version has got a sort of "go big or go home" attitude.

@matt._.9672

remembering this was Rachel in season 1 if Lea sung this as season 6 Rachel she would make it perfect to be honest

@tuz2160

April characterises it perfectly, Rachel is more naive in terms of less experience, so it ain't nearly as good... But she would get there irl.

@tuz2160

also APRIL'S RANGE LIKE WUT COMPLETE CONTROL WHERE EVER RACHEL STRUGGLES

@michelenguyen2003

@@tuz2160 I guess that's the whole point of it, to show people that Rachel is good but she still needs more experience/pratice

@adahkaplan8494

Definitely and Kristins voice is twangy while Rachel’s has depth...it’s fitting

Worst thing Glee did was not have April Rhodes* meet Shelby Corcoran*. That would have been amazing.
