Take me for one day
Please don't ask any questions
You know I can stay
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
I know isn't this crazy
Let's have a last drink
Don't ask where I come from
And don't ask what I think
I leave you, lady
Full of desire to stay
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
I told you
Take me for one day
Don't ask any questions
You know I can stay
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
I wish the wind was cold
I want to hold you baby hold
Only in your arms I'm lost
Don't look at me
The lyrics of Grace and Julian's song "Lost Again" depict a passionate encounter between two people. The singer is pleading with their lover to spend only one day with them without asking any questions about their past or future. They simply want to be held in their lover's arms and feel the warmth of their embrace. The repeated line, "I wish the wind was cold, I want to hold you baby hold," suggests a desire for physical and emotional closeness, and the idea that they lose themselves within each other's embrace.
The second verse suggests the fleeting nature of their encounter, with the singer proposing a "last drink" before departing. They do not want to reveal too much about themselves, preferring instead to keep things simple and focused on the moment, full of "desire to stay" but ultimately needing to leave. The repeated refrain of "Don't look at me" feels like an invitation to remain in this fantasy for just a little longer, to avoid any harsh realities that might pull them back to the world outside.
Interestingly, the song has an ambiguous ending, leaving open the possibility that the singer might stay longer than just one day, but also acknowledging the possibility that they may never see each other again. Overall, "Lost Again" captures the excitement and uncertainty of a passionate encounter, emphasizing the desire for connection and intimacy in the face of an uncertain future.
