He graduated from The University of Auckland with degrees in economics and politics. He is a classically trained pianist and French horn player. Revell worked as a regional planner in Australia and Indonesia and as an orderly in an Australian psychiatric hospital. Graeme Revell was a member of SPK, an industrial music group, for which he played keyboards and percussion. Their single In Flagrante Delicto was the basis for his score for the film Dead Calm (1989). This was his first score and won him an Australian Film Industry award. Since then he's done a number of major and minor film soundtracks including Ghost in the Machine, The Crow, The Crow: City of Angels, The Craft, The Saint, Street Fighter Daredevil, Chinese Box, and The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl.

I'm a filmmaker, and I have watched this movie countless times. Truer words have never been spoken to me and it made me think of how I wasted so much time and life preparing for what was never going to be. Now I'm too old to do something about it and I'm left thinking what should've been or could've been. Live year to year and sure plan for the unknown but just don't get so far ahead of yourself because you yourself can change mind set in five years time.

When he says he has a visitor and he's standing alone and confused it just breaks my heart. The words that I keep thinking about after seeing this movie are when he says my ambitions far exceeded my talent. The will of an ambitious person is powerful. This movie is wonderful. Betrayed by his childhood friends just to save their own asses!. Gotta love how life kicks you square in the balls with no remorse and just keeps it moving. But then again in his line of work he's lucky to still be above ground. And hell he's probably back at it again with wisdom on his side. Jail doesn't teach you any lesson other than how to be a better criminal and for the ones who take that lesson and turn themselves around I wish you all the best!.

I never have seen a movie that brings so much emotions togehter than this one. This movie is a masterpiece and shows you that life is not about a big plan or a huge event, no...in fact its neither...there is always an UP in your life, where you think everything is fine....and than there is the DOWN again, like a ride in an amusement park. I remember those Saturday mornings going to work with my dad, we'd climb into that big green truck. I thought that truck... was the biggest truck in the universe pop. this guy did music for the film "boxing helena" which is a total mind fuck of a film..i liked it. ..but the music to it was what made it great i think. Graeme Revell is one of my soundtrack heroes...along with Cliff Martinez and Thomas Newman. Gotta love Tangerine Dream as well
