His first solo album,'The Sky is Too High', was released in 1998 and has a very muted, uncommercial sound. 'TSITH' was followed by 'The Golden D' which features two covers of the band Mission Of Burma. The next album to come was 'Crow Sit On Blood Tree', which has some of his most ethereal tracks to date on, and is very lo-fi. Fourth album 'The Kiss Of Morning' shows Graham developing as an artist in his own right and the songs take on a more fleshed out and accomplished form. However, it was not until the release of 'Freakin' Out' in 2004 that Coxon had a solo mainstream hit. 'Happiness In Magazines', Graham's fifth album, is largely considered to be his most accessible and complete work, featuring frantic, slick guitar-pop of the highest order.
In 2006 Graham Coxon released his sixth solo album, 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds', preceeded by the UK Top 20 single 'Standing On My Own Again'. 'Love Travels at Illegal Speeds' shows Coxon branching out to try his hand at some new sounds as well as tightening the punk-pop formula that is his hallmark. The album was released in two formats, with a DVD containing interviews and live tracks as an optional extra.
It marks Coxon's first album away from his now-defunct indie label 'Transcopic'. Coxon also played guitar on Peter Doherty's 2009 solo album Grace / Wastelands.
11th May 2009, Coxon released his 7th album 'The Spinning Top'. 2009 saw Coxon embark on numerous gigs with Blur, including headlining Glastonbury Festival.

Gimme Some Love
Graham Coxon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's a messed up situation
Are you gonna dump this other guy
Before I die of sexual frustation?
I can't stand the crowds on a Saturday night
Why don't you come round and try to make it alright?
Gimme some love
The way you get into my corduroys
Like you're on some kind of expedition
Your shaking hands with the destroyer of boys
I run into the arms of certain extinction
First you're teasing me , then you're wanting a fight
Just 'cause it pleases me doesn't make it alright
The lyrics to Graham Coxon's song Gimme Some Love are a representation of a tumultuous relationship that is bordering on destructive. The opening line, "We're a right pair, you and I," explicitly states the chaos and instability that exists between the two narrators. The second line, "It's a messed up situation," solidifies this and foreshadows the ups and downs that the pair go through in their relationship.
The singer then goes on to ask if the other person is going to leave their current partner, "Before I die of sexual frustration?" This not only shows the impatience of the singer, but also the potential for the relationship to destroy all parties involved. The image of "sexual frustration" is juxtaposed with the desire for love and fulfillment.
The second half of the song goes even further into describing the destructive relationship. The line "Your shaking hands with the destroyer of boys" can be interpreted as the other person being a catalyst for destruction and chaos. The singer feels like they are running towards their own destruction, represented by the phrase "certain extinction." This pain, however, is also desired by the singer, as seen in the line "Just 'cause it pleases me doesn't make it alright."
Overall, Gimme Some Love is a powerful yet tragic song about a relationship that is destructive but also desired. It shows the complexity of relationships and how they can bring both pleasure and pain.
