She inherited her dad's determination and her mom's clear and expressive eyes.

She has an independent and adventurous spirit.

She is wondering where that red road goes
She's pondering about where the rural road goes and where it may lead her.

It's getting dark and the stars are coming out in the night sky.

Will she make it to the lights of the city bright
She's wondering if she'll ever venture into the bright lights of a big city.

She wonders if she'll ever find love on her journey.

Now a woman stands on that same old road
Years later, the girl is now a grown woman standing again on the same rural road.

Her father is with her, likely accompanying her on this nostalgic trip.

Her mother has passed away but her bright and expressive eyes are still with her.

And yes she made it to the lights of the city bright
She did eventually travel to the bright lights of the big city she once wondered about.

Despite her journeys and experiences, she never lost touch with her rural roots and where she came from.
