And even so, there are still people who says "jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams" bro, the temperature it burned during all that time is insane, I know the inmediate temperature probably doesn't get the exact value for the steel to be molten but there are some factors almost everyone ignore.

1. The energy of the impact, a 757 / 767 with its full tanks is very heavy, almost 100 tonnes, and adding a speed of 600 - 900 km/h the force of the impact is something insane, it even moved the buildings 3 - 5 meters, people who were inside the tower told so.

2. Every existing object has some capacity of retain and release heat, but when you take an object and start inducting heat at a higher speed than it can release the heat, it warms up to a higher temperature than the source, and considering that inside the towers there were not a constant wind flux, surely those steel beams got its melting temperature within minutes.

3. The weight of the structure above the collision, why did South Tower collapse first? Easy: Because it was hit in a lower floors, it means that the weakened area had more stress and weight to deal with than the North Tower because that tower was hit in a higher floor.

I was 7 when all this happened and I watched the whole thing on the news on that day, and that's something I'll never forget. My dream is to live in the USA some day, I have great respect for that country, you are strong people. RIP to all those who lost their lifes on that day and to those who died from illnesses caused by the dust.

This all still bothers me so much. I wonder how many of these people are still with us. Silica, asbestos, fluorescent lighting, it’s all so very deadly. Breaks my heart. They do. It shaped the world we all live in today. ISIS, The recession, War in Iraq and Afghan. But I am pretty obsessed too. For me I think its the fact of seeing these mega towers in the middle of the NYC being obliterated in front of millions of people to watch. Not knowing whats going to happen next, the suspense and confusion. With video camera technology becoming available widespread it allowed hundreds of angles of footage to watch it unfold. A naive America. With the corresponding attack on the Pentagon and potential path of 93. It was truly the most deceptive and successful attack on this country ever.

Probably the most powerful video account of this event I’ve ever seen.

I've binged a LOT of 911 footage and I don't know how this guy's video has eluded me. This is easily up there as quite possibly the most fucking riveting footage. This shit is as real as it gets. My mother was killed in the South Tower on the 86th floor. She was last seen helping her friend who had trouble walking. I had worked just blocks away from there in the federal court. I left New York City in early 2001 to do missionary work and if I hadn't I would have seen the tower come down with my mother in it. I always regretted that I couldn't be there for my mother that day and with this video I felt like I was there.

From 15:30 to 16:46, keep an eye on the East face of the tower. As the building gets closer to collapsing, you can slowly see the perimeter columns disappear behind the smoke as they begin to bend. Just goes to show how far those steel beams bent before ripping in two.

Today is September 11, 2023. After 22 years, it still feels like it all happened yesterday. Peace for all those who perished on that day. I have never got to see the original towers with my own eyes. Very unfortunate. I was eleven. I visited the Ground Zero in late 2002, only to discover the huge emptiness of it. Hard to believe those towers fell and crushed everything at the very spot I was standing. Someday, I wish to visit there again.

I was just about to turn 11 as well. Being close to NY, a lot of people in our area were, or knew, people affected directly. I remember watching the news at school and continued watching after we got sent home. This left a deep mental scar for me. That was the most terrifying and heartbreaking thing I’ve heard. All those voices wailing in shock fear and disbelief. The increasingly desperate cries by the cops to clear the area and the sound of all the glass fragments and debris landing like a shower shortly the tower collapsed also got me.

This is the most intense footage of the first collapse. The audio alone captures the roar of the building coming down, the screams, and the rumbling of the debris cloud barreling through the streets. And then the footage of the crowd within the dust itself. It has always seemed odd to me that there is very little professional street-level footage available from that day. One tends to see the same clips over and over, and yet there must have been many portable video cameras and news agencies at work in NYC at the time. The CEO would have been present in his office had he not been taking his son to his first day of kindergarten. I remember hearing the interview with the lady who was able to escape from one of the upper floors. I had on the TV coverage and also had on 1010 WINS on my Walkman. I live in SouthEast PA and where I live we get AM radio stations from NYC.

WINS Account Manager Joan Fleisher did a great job as a reporter describing what she could see and hear. She had called the station to tell the newsman what had happened.

Months before 911, I found myself standing on the observation deck of the south tower of the World Trade Center, looking down on the Statue of Liberty and imagining my grandparents as they first arrived to America. I stood there for two hours with no idea that soon everything around me would be gone. After 911, I took one of the first flights back to NYC, where I drove by the still smoldering wreckage. That beautiful lofty deck I had recently stood on was now just an empty spot in the sky.
Later, while in an elevator, I ran across a man in rescue gear. He was dirty and exhausted from working at ground zero. I thanked him for his courage and heart. He just nodded in silence.
Had my work schedule been slightly different, I might have visited the towers on that horrible day and suffered greatly. This is something I've pondered for many years now...

I actually am convinced this video captures the very first part of the tower to fail, and I mean the very first structural part. It shows 12 of the columns on the east side closes to the northeast corner, and you can clearly see columns (from right to left) #2-12 are bent badly. The fire is particularly nasty on this northeast corner section which doesn't surprise me since it's on the opposite side of the building from where the plane hit, which is where a lot of debris would have been pushed.
I'm almost positive that in this area 2-4 floors pulled loose from these 12 columns, leaving them without lateral support. I think that the internal columns inside the tower got so hot that they bucked one by one, putting more and more stress on these already weakened columns, until finally it was too much and they bent under all the weight on them.

When the South Tower started to collapse… It was like I was right there watching this and hearing all those people gasping in terror. All I can think of is all those people still trying to get out, all those firefighters… I revisit this every year and the magnitude of it just hits harder and harder every time. My cousin’s New York office was in the North Tower. He was supposed to be there that day, but a colleague of his that had been scheduled to go to a meeting in Japan couldn’t make it. So my cousin went to Japan and his colleague went to the office in Tower 1. He and everyone else from their office perished there that day. I can’t even imagine what it must’ve been like in those last few moments for them…

The loud sound recorded also by Cazzaniga is interesting. I'd guess this was a large section of the tower's outer frame that had been momentarily caught in the latticework of the Banker's Trust building, which then released some seconds later and crashed down. Some of this framework, 40x30 feet of it, was still lodged in the building after the event. An enormous gash was torn in the building which could not be repaired and the building was eventually dismantled (not, I would add, demolished, controlled or uncontrolled).

To those born after 9/11… the whole world changed this day. It was a different America before and after this. The whole country watched it live from tv. It was chaos. We saw people jumping to their deaths. I watched the second plane crash live with classmates in high school. Just because we watched it through the tv, it doesn’t mean we all didn’t collectively get PTSD.

I think about this all the time, we don’t think about the collective PTSD, but it’s very real. I had recurring nightmares for months about being trapped at the top of the Empire State Building. I still have paranoia on airplanes. My innocence was totally destroyed, I never saw the world the same. I lost trust in the government, in our intelligence, and in our military.

It’s so surreal. F the people who did this. No one who worked in that building or on the ground deserved this. This is humanity at its absolute most demonic.
