Armed with solid training and raw talent, they mix and combine their different musical backgrounds. Their complex arrangements, inspired by both classical and modern composers, are particularly striking to hear and see during their live shows. Devon Portielje’s remarkable voice is beautifully backed up by Connor Molander and Dylan Phillips. Phillips often plays drums and keys simultaneously as Molander and Portielje shuffle between guitar, keys, samplers, and percussion folky three-part harmonies hold down moody, psychedelic arrangements and electronic-infused soundscapes. They have recently welcomed a 4th member on stage, multi-instrumentlist Isaac Symonds, who adds his voice as well as playing guitar, keyboards and percussions.

When you were lookin' for a while
Without a trace
That we're underneath the weather
And I tried to let go,
And she slipped away
Like a little girl
My girl would never say
What I need to hear to make it all okay
So we try to make nice so the kids won't know
For a little while but it really doesn't make it all
Find you alone a while
With a heavy hand and a darkened smile
Let her find time to regret
But I still don't know and I really wanna make her mine
She wants to know just who I am
She wants to know just who I am
She can make you work for the worth that she has
She wants to know just who I am
I'm guessin' that it happens all of the time
Through no fault of mine
She can turn it around
And she wasn't like the best thing under the sun
But, yeah, I guess I needed to learn from her
I guess I need to open up and let it all out
Your face when it all came down
With the bright light is a little dark frown
Now is unturned by the sharp alarm
And you weren't afraid
But it really doesn't matter
I tried you and forced a smile
And we were like friends for an unsaid while
And I might have let go maybe one of those nights
She stayed a while
And still I wanna make her mine
She wants to know just who I am
She wants to know just who I am
She can make you work for the worth that she has
She wants to know just who I am
I'm guessin' that it happens all of the time
Through no fault of mine
She can turn it around
And she wasn't like the best thing under the sun
But, yeah, I guess I needed to learn from her
I guess I need to open up and let it all out
And she wasn't like the best thing under the sun
But, yeah, I guess I needed to learn from her
Guess I need to open up and let it all out
The lyrics to Half Moon Run's song "She Wants To Know" are about a man who is trying to figure out who he is, and struggling to connect with a woman he is attracted to. The first verse talks about the man's attempts to let go of the woman, who seems to have slipped away from him. He is torn between his desire to make her his own and his fear of being rejected. He is also dealing with his own feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty about who he is and what he wants.
The second verse describes the man's attempts to pretend that everything is okay so that the kids won't know that there is trouble in the relationship. He is trying to keep up appearances, but he knows that it's not working. He finds himself alone with his thoughts, and he wonders if the woman will ever come back to him. He knows that she can be difficult and demanding, but he still wants to make her his own.
The chorus is about the woman's desire to know who the man really is. She knows that he is holding something back, and she wants to find out what that is. The man is struggling to open up and let himself be vulnerable, but he knows that he needs to if he wants to make things work with the woman he loves.
Overall, the lyrics of the song are about the universal struggle to find oneself and to connect with others. The man in the song is trying to figure out who he is and what he wants, while also trying to navigate a complex relationship with a woman who is both challenging and rewarding.

I just heard this band at E3, and although I'm in my 50's, i think this is one of the best bands I've heard in a long while. I think they'll be big, they're different from the norm of these days of mass produced music...I wish them all the luck in the world, and will be buying their debut album on the 23rd
