Well… it’s been a while no one comments in here. Years, actually. But, for me, this is definitely my favorite song from Halsey. I like to think that it fits any situation (balancing the lyrics), like if you’re happy, you can enjoy the rhythm, if you’re mad, it calms you down, if you’re sad… if your heartbroken. Well yeah, you get the ideia. I think the lyrics are SO FKCNG poetic and strong, and I can’t even count how many situations I felt like a fool an dived deep in the vibe when she says “I’m such a fool”. It calms my soul down. Even though the lyrics are sad af, she said the sun never rises, but to me it’s like an agony that you struggle hardly, but as I said it’s just calming. It just makes me consider that in the end you know that it’s gonna be fine. And the sun will rise. Just don’t stop praying!

The thing i love about this album and Halsey in general is that when i listened to badlands for the first time (it was my first time listening to Halsey) is that when you listen to the songs, you pick out the ones you like instantly. You either pick them out based on what your friends told you was good or what sounded good, without paying attention to the lyrics. But then a while later, be it days or weeks or months, you listen to one line of a certain song from badlands and check the song out. Thats when you realise that this, along with the songs you chose the first time you listened to her, is your favourite song. You listen to the lyrics and pay attention to it, and you fall in love with it the way you didn't when you first listened to it.

This song has touched me since I heard it. I use to be on drugs 3 years ago. And the man I fell in love with was on drugs as well. I loved him like religion. And I was a fool to pay the price. He would "come down" off drugs and he was a monster. "He's off to pay his crimes and he's got no time for mine". He constantly was leaving to sell drugs. He always came back and he was mine he was my lover- the educated eyes between my thighs. Every single night I'd pray the sun would rise and have another day with him. Him coming down off the drugs was bad though he was angry and abusive at times. I was a fool at times to let that shit happen to me. I am clean now though and he is too. So thats the good ending to that story too lol. Clean for a year from the devil.

Halsey reminds me of every artist I love. I listen to mostly rap but also love singer-songwriters. I LOVE skylar grey. Halsey kind of reminds me of her style. Listen to invisible or word by her. Or any song by her really. She's amazing.
