In 1992, Connick was arrested for having a gun at JFK International Airport but avoided charges by making a public-service television commercial. He continued to release successful albums, including 25 and When My Heart Finds Christmas, which was the best-selling Christmas album of 1993.
Harry Connick Jr. started his career as a jazz pianist and singer. Come By Me

Come talk to me baby
Tell me how
We can combine
Will you be
My sunshine forever
Will you be
Try me out
And if you get excited
Take me home
I'd love to be invited
Once we're there
I'm sure you'll be delighted
We could rock all night
Wait and see
We might fit together
That would be
My lucky day
Come by me
Come love with me baby
Maybe we
Could run away
Well come by me
Come talk to me baby
Tell me how
We can combine
Will you be
My sunshine forever
Or will you be
Just a friend of mine
Try me out
And if you get excited
Take me home
I'd love to be invited
Once we're there
I'm sure you'll be delighted
We could rock all night
Wait and see
We might fit together
That would be
My lucky day-yeah
Come by me
Oh come love with me baby
Maybe we
Could run away
Maybe we
Could run away
Maybe we
Could run away
The lyrics of Harry Connick Jr.'s song "Come By Me" depict a conversation between two people where one of them is asking the other to come and talk to him. The singer here is asking the other person to come and tell him how they can combine to create something beautiful. He then asks the person to be his sunshine for the rest of his life and be his friend forever.
The lyrics are quite intriguing as it is not clear whether the singer is talking about a romantic relationship or just a friendship. The lines "Try me out and if you get excited, take me home" and "Maybe we could run away" suggest a romantic interest, but the lines "Will you be a friend of mine" and "Come love with me baby" create room for other interpretations.
The overall message of the song is one of hope and the possibility of finding happiness and companionship in another person. The singer is asking the other person to take a chance on him and see if they fit together. The song is a beautiful expression of a desire for connection and intimacy.
