1) Heavy Load was a heavy metal band from Stockholm, Sweden. Formed in 1976 by the brothers Ragne (vocals and guitar) and Styrbjörn Wahlquist (vocals and drums), together with bassist Michael Backlund.
In 1977 Heavy Load recorded their first album "Full Speed at High Level" (released 1978), now with Dan Molén on the bass.
After their debut, Ex-Highbrow guitarist was added to the lineup as well as Torbjörn Ragnesjö (A cousin of the Wahlquist brothers), replacing Dan Molén. This line-up released the EP "Metal Conquest" and the two full- length albums "Death or Glory" (1982) and "Stronger than Evil" (1983) on their own record label before breaking up. "Stronger than Evil" even featured renowned bass player Phil Lynott on the song "Free". Heavy Load was known in Sweden and also had a following in Japan, but in spite of this they never made any real commercial breakthrough. A last try was made in 1985 with the single "Monsters of the Night", featuring bassist Andreas Fritz, but the band split up shortly after.
In 1987, the Wahlquist Bros. kickstarted the band again and recorded an album together with ex-UFO bassist Paul Gray and guitarist Patrik Karlsson. The album was never released, though. Years later though, a cover of "Run with the Devil" was recorded by another Swedish metal band, Hammerfall, featuring backing vocals by the Wahlquist brothers.
2) Heavyload are Brighton's punk outfit, ambition, fantasy, expectation and desire that fuels the band. But they’re also uniquely, made up of musicians with and without learning disabilities.
Dreaming
Heavy Load Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Trying so hard to make out what's in my line
Many times I've been crying all alone
Been afraid of my own life, is it my own
Dreaming of a better life
Dreaming of a life that's mine
When my time is over it has past
Who will be crying on my grave, what will last
I have to live 'cause life is mine today
Dreaming of a better life
Dreaming of a life that's mine
I'm loving life in spite of all the pain
I have to live 'cause my time is just today
Feeling that life is running out of time
I know it's taking from me what is mine
Dreaming of a better life
Dreaming of a life that's mine
The lyrics of Heavy Load's song Dreaming conveys a sense of hope and desperation at the same time. The track is essentially about a person's desire for a better life, a life that belongs wholly to them. The opening lines, "I've had the strangest feelings in my time / Trying so hard to make out what's in my line," suggest that the singer has struggled to understand their place in the world. The feeling of uncertainty is further emphasized by the line, "Been afraid of my own life, is it my own," which suggests a lack of agency.
The chorus is where the message of the song is at its strongest. The line, "Dreaming of a better life / Dreaming of a life that's mine," is repeated three times throughout the song, and it speaks to the singer's yearning for a life that is free of outside influence. The song's overall message is one of hope and determination, despite the inevitability of death. The line, "When my time is over it has past / Who will be crying on my grave, what will last," suggests that the singer is aware of their own mortality but wants to make the most of the time they have left.
In the second verse, the singer acknowledges that life is not always easy. "Taking bad time for the good all the way / I have to live 'cause life is mine today," indicates that the singer is willing to endure hardship in pursuit of their dreams. The song concludes with the powerful line, "Feeling that life is running out of time / I know it's taking from me what is mine," which further reinforces the singer's determination to make the most of what little time they have left.
