The scene is being prepared for a monumental moment.

A courtroom where I stand shackled in chains
I am standing trial, imprisoned and bound by my circumstances.

No defense to fight the charges
I have no arguments to offer in my defense.

Brought against my name
All the accusations and allegations are directed towards me.

Guilty on all counts
I have been found guilty of all the charges against me.

And the penalty is death
The punishment is the ultimate price of death.

I cannot say a word
I am speechless and have no words to express myself.

Because I have no words to say
I am silenced by the raw emotions of the situation.

For I deserve the final judgement
I understand that I am not innocent and I deserve this ruling.

Brought on me today
This verdict is the culmination of my actions and behavior.

Wait! No more!
Suddenly there is a change in the atmosphere.

Suddenly another takes the stand
Someone else is stepping forward to take responsibility.

My Advocate
A perfect and righteous person is willing to defend me.

To plead my case, a perfect, blameless man
This person is not just taking my side but also has no fault of their own.

I will take his penalty
This perfect person is willing to suffer the consequences that I should pay.

They will pay the price that I cannot afford.

Place the judgement all on me
This person will take the punishment that should be mine.

This perfect individual is acquitted of any wrongdoing and has no guilt.

I can now be released and set free from any consequences.

Bound in chains
I was physically restrained and restricted.

I owed a debt that I could not pay
I had accumulated more suffering than I could handle alone.

Standing guilty in every way
I was aware of all the wrongdoing I had committed.

When grace and mercy brought absolution
My forgiveness and redemption came from a form of kindness and compassion.

Adonai, I raise my hands to the sky in praise
I express my gratefulness and worship to God.

For you have taken my sin away
God has removed all the guilt and shame from me.

Behold, today is my absolution day
This is a new day of freedom and hope for me.

Only the death of the One
The sacrifice of a perfect person was required.

Could make the sacrifice complete
Nothing else could satisfy the demands of justice.

The Lam has sprinkled His own blood
Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, gave his life for us.

Upon the mercy seat
His blood covers our sins, and we are forgiven.

Burn the stain of sin away
Our sins can be removed from our lives.

No priest can say I'm worthy
No religious leader can state that we deserve forgiveness.

No sacraments or holy laws
Following religious rituals or rules cannot change our hearts or guilt.

Can take my sin away
Only divine interactions can remove our sins.

No church can wash my spirit clean
No church or congregation can purify our souls.

For the scarlet stain that paints my soul to sleep
The deep-rooted sins that torment us reside within our souls.

Runs way too deep
Some sins are too deeply ingrained to escape.

No blessed holy water
No physical substance or holy item has the power to cleanse us.

Can sanctify me in the eyes of God
No physical purification can gain acceptance from God.

But He has made provision
God has provided us with a way to become holy.

To lift me up and wash me in the blood
God's extraordinary efforts are needed to remove our sins.

Of the spotless Lamb
Jesus, the sinless Lamb, was sacrificed for our salvation.

For Christ alone is worthy
Only Jesus was suitable to pay the price for our sin.

To pay the price to set all sinners free
Jesus has paid the price for all past, present, and future sins.

For even me
Even with all my wrongdoing, I have been forgiven.

When all works fall short and efforts fail
Human efforts alone are insufficient to remove our deepest sins.

I realize that faith alone's the key
Believing in God's provision is the key to redemption.

Absolution for all who believe
Redemption is available to all if we believe in Jesus Christ.
