The group consisted of Alice (앨리스), Nara (나라), Lime (라임), Seoyoung (서영), Yooyoung (유영), and Yeoreum (여름). Former members are Yoo Ara (유아라) and Yoonjo (윤조) of UNI.T. The group debuted on May 9, 2012. On July 31st, 2014, it was revealed that Yoo Ara and Yoonjo were leaving the group following a mutual agreement between Pledis Entertainment and Fantagio. HELLOVENUS then continued to promote as a four member group before adding two new members.

On May 9, 2012, Hello Venus debuted their mini-album Venus. Venus features four track in all, with Venus serving as the promotional track. Promotions for Venus began on May 10, 2012, on M! Countdown. On July 4, 2012, the group released 파도처럼, off the digital album 파도처럼. On December 12, 2012, Hello Venus made their first complete comeback with their mini-album 오늘 뭐해? with the title track 오늘 뭐해?.

I miss this Hello Venus so much....I don't really like cute concepts but I just loved their look and the songs were perfect for their voices. I love hello Venus so much! I always felt HV had a snsd feel. Hear me out people and fellow sones. One day when snsd is not promoting anymore (which sadly will happen) I could see HV able to carry on as the next group of similar style. Although some groups tried to go for a more snsd look I wasn't feeling it but I do with HV. Not saying they don't have their own thing, just the younger group to be handed the torch. Poor HV though. The girls also have very unique and stand out faces and looks. Another thing which I believe helps snsd that's why I can see the carry on torch thing from snsd to HV. Ara looks like Yoonyul's love child and Yoonju looks like taengsic's love child. They probably haven't promoted and are splitting because they are not gaining popularity fast enough. Now a days in kpop it's a race for the girl groups to see who can be the most naked and air hump the most in mv before they are banned from live performance (not all but it sure seems like it). If they were older and had started early I'm sure they would have become very popular quickly. Before the change in kpop. Snsd, kara, WG etc all became popular with an innocent image but that was a different time. That's why I think hv could have too. Sadly it seems too difficult for that concept to ever make it now. Hello Venus fighting!! I love you girls~

Pledis literally screwed Ara and Yoonjo over. Ara and Yoonjo were literally running to be the new/future AFTER SCHOOL members not HV (Ara was supposed to be the 9th member of AS not E-Young). Pledis should have placed them into the group where they'll be in a stable group. Ara's done with Pledis and Yoonjo reportedly left the company as well recently. I rather have had Ara and Yoonjo be in AS than E-Young and Kaeun because Ara+Yoonjo would and HAVE brought something to the group and not be total deadweights.
