Decreasing attention spans and increasing online media usage have created a new genre of artist deemed "college rap." The name springs from the overwhelming number of creative students who have been able to leverage their music through social media and on-campus groups. This new wave of artist uses guerilla marketing and word of mouth advertising tactics to create buzz throughout their local campuses. The problem with this movement is the lack of longevity and differentiation that exists in this realm.
Enter Hendersin. Never a slave to the industry nor a victim to the problem, Tyronne “Hendersin” Henderson attempts to defy the odds by offering a combination of intellect, emotion, fun, and artistic punch lines. He never wears the mask of others, crediting his hometown and life experiences for his continued rise.
Growing up in a small town in Western Massachusetts allowed Hendersin to shine in his community by way of academics, athletics, and the arts. After spending a year at Bridgewater State College, he decided shift his focus to music and put academics in his back pocket. Rather than moving to Boston or New York like most of his peers, he moved home to build a reputation in a relatively untapped market. Here, he teamed up with childhood friend Corey Ricketts, who had taken his training as a Sales and Marketing professional into the entertainment industry. This allowed Hendersin to focus on the music while Corey built a reputation.
Being local enabled word to travel fast and soon enough Hendersin was performing with the likes of Boston’s own - Mr. Lif, the lyrical - Immortal Technique, Jurassic 5’s - Chali 2na, Wu-Tang’s - Raekwon, Wiz Khalifa, Fablolous, Big Sean and others. Rather than take every show he could get, Hendersin focused his time on creating good music and soon began producing his own beats.
To date, Hendersin has compiled 6 mix tapes, most notably "No Rhyme Or Reason Vol. 2" which has gained over 10,000 downloads on Datpiff. Hendersin also independently released the album "Henny In Ya System" in September 2013 which peaked at number 85 on iTunes Hip Hop Album charts. In August 2014 Hendersin made his Billboard debut landing at the number 10 spot on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. Hendersin is currently working on an album as well as booking a tour.

Getting paid for the shows mic check one, two
Journey always better than the place that you run to
Before was like practice more like a run through
Its time to capitalize
Cuz I connect these lines like capital I's
And I just always been me, I ain't have to disguise
When your working for the chips well you have to be wise
And I didn't stop till they said we believe in you
It's funny cuz the things that I capture
They play fucking louder than the screams in the rapture
They tried to leave me broke but the thing bout a fracture
It's something that I fear but its nothing I will factor cuz…
These dreams under my pillow
In the twilight of these white nights
These dreams under my pillow
In the twilight of these white nights
I love the game thats what I was made for
You thought that I would fold but thats what you get a maid for
Its funny cuz I'm paid for getting out my dreams
Gotta keep it moving, never park fuck yo themes yeah
Get it theme park? so if it seem dark, don't worry bout light
They say pain equals love, thats a match that I know but its one you ain't gotta fight, right?
No you ain't gotta fight it, I'm heating up you can say I'm ignited
Yes your invited to this thing I call life
These rappers couldn't cut even if they had knife
Vigorus with venom, its in my genes like demin
They getting attached like song's in email's when you send em
Damn, ya'll ain't doin to good
Now its time to bare witness like you livin in the woods.
In the introductory lines of White Nights, Hendersin reflects on his musical journey and success. He feels that he has come far and is now getting paid for his shows - a symbol of success in the music industry. Hendersin believes that the journey is always better than the destination, as the way we approach our goals and the experience is what shapes us. He compares his past experiences with practice and the present wit the actual performance. Capitalizing on his rap skills to connect with his lyrics, he expresses his true self without having to pretend to be anybody else. He knows that working to achieve his dreams requires wise decisions, and he acknowledges that he has it in him to make smart choices. Despite challenges and obstacles, Hendersin has come a long way and is committed to moving forward and making the most out of his life.
The hook of the song emphasizes the concept of dreams, which Hendersin sees as treasures hidden beneath his pillow. White Nights is a reference to the time between dusk and dawn when it never actually becomes dark, which symbolizes Hendersin's journey towards his dreams, which never end but constantly for him. He emphasizes that one should never stop dreaming and work towards their goals with enthusiasm.
