Some of These Days
His Band Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You'll miss your honey
Some of these days
You'll feel so lonely
You'll miss my hugging
You'll miss my kisses
You'll miss me, honey
I feel so lonely
Just for you only
For you know, honey
You've had your way
And when you leave me
I know you'll grieve me
You'll miss your little honey
Some of these days
The lyrics of "Some of These Days" by His Band depict the emotions of longing, loneliness, and heartache that one experiences when a loved one leaves. The repetition of the phrase "Some of these days" suggests a sense of inevitability, emphasizing that at some point in the future, the absence of the honey or loved one will be keenly felt. The use of "honey" can be interpreted as a term of endearment, symbolizing the deep emotional connection and affection shared between the singer and their partner.
The lyrics emphasize the physical and emotional absence that will be felt when the partner leaves. The mention of missing hugging, kisses, and the presence of the singer highlights the void that will be left in the absence of their loved one. This longing for physical closeness and intimacy further underscores the depth of the emotional bond that exists between them. The repeated assurances of being missed serve to emphasize the significance of the partner's presence in the singer's life.
The feelings of loneliness and yearning expressed in the lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and emotional dependency on the part of the singer. The vulnerability of the singer is revealed through their admission of feeling lonely and incomplete without their partner. This vulnerability is further compounded by the acknowledgment that the partner has had their way, implying a sense of resignation or acceptance of the situation despite the emotional toll it takes.
The lyrics also convey a sense of anticipation and foresight regarding the future separation. The singer expresses a deep understanding that their partner will eventually leave and acknowledges the inevitable heartache that will follow. The poignant declaration that the partner will grieve and miss their "little honey" in the days to come reflects a bittersweet realization of the impending loss. Overall, the lyrics of "Some of These Days" convey a poignant portrayal of love, longing, and the emotional complexities that arise when faced with impending separation.

Joan Chamorro's videos span more than a decade. Great to see the development of those children. From small children to adolescents to young adults. And they are all so amazingly talented and enthusiastic.

Also, look at the band's development. Since then, four (or more?) generations of children have made up the sound of the band, every time with the same stunning results. One major difference is that there were only two singing then (Andrea and Eva), while (almost) the whole band may be a choir now!

I am a 75 year old beginner and feel like giving up after listening (20 times) to this magnificent version / performance ...... I just wish I could lay my hands on the score for the Soprano sax intro ! Just superb ....

Que c'est à la fois touchant et merveilleux de voir Andrea et Eva, à un âge où je ne les connaissais pas, prendre des soli avec tant d'assurance. Emouvant vraiment.

Mr. Chamorro, hello from the USA. I hope someday to travel to Barcelona...and give you a hearty handshake! I cannot describe how much I enjoy watching your videos. To date, I've downloaded four of the mpg3 albums.
