Double Take
Holly Valance Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Keep off the track
And keep your feet
Down and you're only saving me
It's not easy staring at me
Look at the way I'm feeling weak

I'll wait for another double take
From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait for another double take
From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait

Keep off the track
And keep your feet
Turn up the face of the recipe
But I want you to come up to me
I wanna look before I leap

I'll wait for another double take

From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait for another double take
From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait
I'll wait

'cause I will hide away
Will you follow me
I don't know what to say
But I know what I see

I'll wait for another double take
From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait for another double take
From you
'cause I don't know what to do
I'll wait
I'll wait

I'll wait
I'll wait

Favorite song from this album, it would have been a great single along with "Hypnotic". I still think releasing the title track was a mistake, hadn't been for it her album would have had more chances to be a success.

Hamish Downie

The title track was an incredible song... but a bit ahead of it's time as the electro comeback wasn't for another couple of years

XTIN0

@Hamish Downie This whole album was electronic and kinda new at that time but it had so much catchier songs than "State of Mind" that also had the potential to become hits and were more radio friendly. Hypnotic, Double Take, Action, Roll Over and others, they're all better and the title track wasn't certainly the "Kiss Kiss" of State of Mind if you know what I mean. Her management sabotaged her career by choosing that single.

i love State of Mind, and Double Take should be the second single, the reason why the album wasn't promoted because Holly didn't want to extend the contract and she had problem with her manager whom she fired during the album release etc. The album and songs are great though

XTIN0

@Basyirun Muhammad Iqbal I didn't know she had problems with her manager. Nevertheless the lead single State of Mind underperformed on the charts, the album had no actual hope.

@XTIN0 Can y'all understand what she's singing on this song? The lyrics online are mostly all wrong apart from the chorus :s
