The setting sun's light as your bookmark
Why does being fond of something similar
But different from someone's normal
Have to be something to fear?
A bundle of spells in your hands
Go back in time
The moment when it comes to you
That song that changes the world
Only happens during nighttime
In the middle of weaving, search your memories
To make up the next page
Sometimes even the wall, the door, the corridor
Feels so unfamiliar
But you're not the only one
The moment when it comes to you
That song that changes the world
Only happens during nighttime
If you'd stay up 'till dawn
So let's dance to the song
On a fresh skating rink
Why don't we break the rules of summer reading?
Why don't we break the rules of summer reading?
Why don't we break the rules of summer reading?
Why don't we break the rules of summer reading?
The lyrics of Homecomings' song Summer Reading describe the feeling of being fond of something that is similar but different from someone's normal, and how this can be perceived as something to fear. The singer finds himself in the middle of reading but decides to close the book, using the setting sun's light as his bookmark. He then questions why it is necessary to fear the things that make us different or unique from others.

Finally, the lyrics suggest breaking the rules of "summer reading" and staying up until dawn, dancing to the song and enjoying life. This can mean stepping out of one's comfort zone and embracing the unknown, which can lead to personal growth and new experiences.
Overall, the lyrics of Summer Reading encourage the listener to embrace their uniqueness, search their memories for inspiration, and break the rules to fully experience life.
