Heavy
House M.D. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to "Heavy" by House M.D. convey themes of defiance, debauchery, and a carefree attitude towards relationships. The opening lines exude confidence and arrogance as the singer refers to themselves as a "god" and dismisses any need for conversation with a derogatory tone towards a woman. The subsequent lines describe a sexual encounter that is characterized by roughness and detachment, with references to physical violence and objectification. The use of aggressive language and imagery suggests a lack of emotional connection and a focus on physical gratification.
The repeated refrain of "put that bitch, hold up" and variations thereof reinforce a sense of control and dominance in the sexual dynamic. The singer's disregard for the woman's well-being is apparent in the way they describe their interactions, with an insistent command to continue without interruption. The comparison of the woman to a mere object to be used for physical pleasure further emphasizes the objectification and dehumanization present in the lyrics.
As the song progresses, references to drug use (such as lean) and material wealth (earning "six bands" and having a gun for ransom) add to the hedonistic tone of the lyrics. The singer's cavalier attitude towards money, drugs, and women suggests a reckless and dangerous lifestyle marked by irresponsibility and excess. The repetition of commands for the woman to "go do your thing" and to "pop like bean" further objectifies her and reduces her agency to that of a performer for the singer's gratification.
Ultimately, the lyrics to "Heavy" paint a picture of a toxic and exploitative relationship where power dynamics are skewed and boundaries are blurred. The glorification of violence, substance abuse, and materialism highlights a dark and destructive worldview that prioritizes immediate pleasure over meaningful human connection. The brash and unapologetic tone of the lyrics serves to shock and provoke, but also raises troubling questions about the underlying attitudes towards women, sex, and personal responsibility.

I like how so much of this series goes like this:
In comes a new patient
Someone: "This is simple; This is what they have."
"Oh no, I was wrong.. it's not simple."
"What do they have?"
—
Someone else: "They have this, this, or this."
—
Someone else again: "Well it can't be this, so it must be this."
—
【Problem solved】
But wait, there's a new issue!
—
House: "Oh no, what do they have?, think everyone!"
—
Someone else: "It could be this, this, or this."
—
House or someone else: "No, none of those are right."
—
someone mentions a small detail about the patient
—
House: "I've got it"
"They have this."
—
Someone disagrees
—
House: "It all fits."
—
Someone else: "but there's only a small chance that they could have that and if we're wrong then they'll die."
—
House: "if we do nothing then they die."
—
they do the procedure

My mom had Cushing’s disease. At her biggest she was around 400lbs. It’s shameful how many doctors wouldn’t listen to her when she told them there was something wrong. No amount of diet or exercise helped her lose weight. She had high blood pressure, loss of bone density, the classic hump on her upper back/neck, debilitating migraines, and mood swings. She fell into a deep depression when she was sick and I honestly don’t know how she did it. If we went out to eat people would look at her so disgusted. It took 2 surgeries to remove the entire tumor she had on her pituitary gland. She’s much better now but is on so many medications still.

@Tony H I live in India. And believe me every time I’ve gone to a Gynaecologist, I’ve got weird looks. Every time I’ve gotten USG, I’ve gotten weird looks. People look at me, see a young girl and automatically assume something fishy is going on. Forget Cushing, I had to visit multiple clinics before I even got to know I have PCOD. Doctors simply told me to exercise and eat less, for years nonetheless.
