From a first single in 1979, the group successfully combined a pop rock and power pop (and sometimes, a blues rock) influenced backing with harmony side-vocals and Lewis' strident voice, and the band had numerous hit songs during the 1980s and early 1990s. These include "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" (both of which were featured in the film "Back to the Future"), "I Want a New Drug", "Doin' It All (For My Baby)", "Do You Believe in Love?" "Hip to Be Square", "Stuck With You", and "Jacob's Ladder". Huey Lewis shared three Grammy awards, an American Music Award, and a People's Choice Award along with several artists for his role singing the 1985 charity song "We Are the World" as well.

Huey Lewis & The News Lyrics

Tweele, deedle, dee goes the bird
But the sound of your little voice, darling
Is the sweetest sound I've ever heard
I've seen the beauty of the red, red rose
Seen the beauty when the sky is blue
Seen the beauty of the evening sunset
Sweet as the honey from the honeycomb
Sweet are the grapes from the vine
But there's nothing as sweet as you, darling
And I hope someday you'll be mine
Well, buzz, buzz, buzz goes the bumble bee
Tweele, deedle, dee goes the bird
But the sound of your little voice, darling
Is the sweetest sound I've ever heard
I've seen the beauty of the red, red rose
Seen the beauty when the sky is blue
Seen the beauty of the evening sunset
But the beauty of you
Sweet as the honey from the honeycomb
Sweet are the grapes from the vine
But there's nothing as sweet as you, darling
And I hope someday you'll be mine
Hope someday you'll be mine
Hope someday you'll be mine
Hope someday you'll be mine
Huey Lewis & The News's song Buzz Buzz Buzz is a love song that compares the beauty of nature to that of a loved one. The song begins with the buzzing of a bumble bee and the chirping of a bird, but the sound of the lover's voice is even sweeter to the singer's ears. The chorus repeats the analogy in a more direct manner, with the singer stating that while honey from a honeycomb and grapes from a vine are sweet, they cannot compare to the sweetness of the lover.
The singer continues to express their admiration for the lover, with mentions of the beauty of a red rose, blue sky, and evening sunset. Despite all this beauty in the world, the person still cannot compare to the beauty of the beloved. The song ends with a repeated hope that someday the loved one will belong to the singer.
The lyrics of Buzz Buzz Buzz are simple but effective in conveying the depth of the singer's love. By using nature as an analogy, the song speaks to the universality of love and how it can transcend all of the world's beauty.

They did fantastic on this one. It's almost a perfect recreation of the original! I always like how these guys paid tribute to the 50's music, and I'd noticed how old rock and doowop was deeply enriched into their style.

It’s lip syncing. American Bandstand was always playback. Great band and super talented but this performance is playback

True! And one that hard parts to getting right was the backup singers - those guys are good.

This is a lot of great material out there from the 50's that should be covered. It may make some of the kids of today start writing and producing music that people can enjoy
