Wearing Cologne Alone
Human Kitten Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I fall in love with every pretty girl I know
Every girl that gives me a second glance
Makes me feel like I am not worthless

I fall in love with every girl on the internet
That responds to my messages with
"Oh god, Elijah you are so talented"
Why are these compliments so terrifying?
I cannot conceive a world where I am worth more than nothing

And I am stuck inside these songs

My lyrics outline my flaws
And I am more vulnerable than ever before

@vvantae_ It is good that your pet "helped'" you through grief.
Not to sound mean, but the problem is that a lot of people get pets to "feel good" but then realize that it does not work. The animal needs care and sometimes can be bothersome, you need to spend money to buy food, bring it to the vet for care etc. Even people who "want" children end up resenting their child because it cries and needs to have its diapers changed a few times a day.
I have heard of people adopting a pet because it is a "temporary relationship" until they get into a "real " relationship, and there are people who treat a pet like a very wanted baby, buy toys for it, bring it to the beauty parlor, etc, but then when that person "finds the right man" (Very very often it is women who do this) then the pet owner will throw the pet out the door or give it away to someone who has a lot of kids and the pet will only be used as a toy, or maybe just start neglecting the pet.

I find it worrisome when people say they adopted a pet to "get love." I once talked with a woman who said she was bitten by a dog when she was a child and now as an adult she wants to adopt a dog but she wants one that will not grow bigger than a few inches otherwise it would remind her of the dog that bit her. She wanted a pure-breed pedigreed dog too. So she went to a dog breeder and wanted him to assure her that the puppy she adopts won't grow past a certain height or width. I could only think to myself that after she adopts the dog and bonds with it, if the dog grows half an inch taller than it is supposed to, then what will she do, sue the breeder? Shoot the dog? Someone like this should actually not adopt a pet.
I have also heard of a woman who hated animals but after her kids grew and left the house she adopted a dog to put it in a carriage and treat it like a baby.
Should this woman have to take care of her grandkids then she will either be more loving to the dog than her grandkids or vice versa.
When I adopted my three cats, I adopted each one because no one else wanted them and two of them had been wandering in the streets and another older one was abandoned because the owner died.
I did not 'need" them for my emotional well being. I took care of them because they needed a responsible humane owner. I had to spend money on cat food, and the cats were very picky and much of the food I bought for them they would not eat, and I had to spend on medications and taking the cats to a veterinarian because each one had some illness (luckily I found a wonderful vet who sometimes did not even accept money from me for this, and she appreciated that I adopted un-adoptable cats) . And I had to spend money on lots and lots of packages of paper towels because when cats have certain illnesses it means they will have litter-box problems. Also the cats sometimes fought with each other and sometimes they would jump on top of me when they did, and it was not easy caring for them, but I loved them and kept them all and cared for them as best I could until each one got too sick (at different times) and I had to bring them to the vet to be euthanized.
One of the cats was particularly difficult and wild, but when I brought her to the vet to be euthanized ( a different vet than the other one I already mentioned) she was very calm and seemed to know it was her time and she stayed calm until she was given the needle.

I couldn’t agree more!

For years I always wanted a cat, but I wasn’t allowed growing up (had dogs all my life. Don’t get me wrong I loved all my dogs from the moment I got them to that dreadful moment I had to say goodbye as they cross the Rainbow Bridge.

One day (ironically enough), my father while I grew up never let me have a cat (he said he hated them), after he and my mother got divorced he gets him a beautiful Siamese kitten :). Unfortunately his new gf had a puppy who did not get along with the new kitten and the kitten kept getting out (dog chased her my understanding), so my father let me take care of her. I loved her so much!

Long story short, he didn’t know at the time when he let me care for her she was pregnant, so I got to keep her and her 5 kittens until the kittens were old enough to be giving to loving new homes. When he took her (the Siamese back) I got to keep a kitten, had her for 14 years. Best cat ever! Sadly year before last she passed in my arms due to Cancer 😭

Like I said she was the best cat!

This vet did the right thing in sending away those horrid people who never deserved such an amazing cat such as Polly.

Ok

Yup

Acid Dice

@Cute koalas car i thought we were talking cats now hehe

Acid Dice

what if they did not know the cat was pregnant and really thought the cat was sick cause a bit of sickness comes with pregnancy also just because of what the story said does not mean they are animal haters.

lancer737

I wish more people spoke like this about unborn human babies.

The vet did the right thing but how do you know that Polly was amazing? Did you know her personally ? Or are you saying that to stick up for her because of her story?

"But then animals simply become old, and unwanted"

For some heartless people yes, but I have 3 cats; 2 kittens and one 15 year old. I love the kittens, but I still love the old one the most and I would do anything for her

Pxlse

That cat is older than me

rayhib

@Pxlse are you under 15 😂

not_nikki

I also have 3 cats! But my oldest one is only 6

Well, now that you guys are including outside cats, I have lots 8 to be exact, and sadly, one of my inside cats are now in heaven….
