Do You Know Anything?
Humble Braggers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Am I treating you like friend
I fear what will come if I get too close
And I'm right to do so, right to do so
So you are falling like a shining star
So you are falling down
What do I know, What do i know?
What do I know, What do I know?
What do I know, What do i know?
With solemn words to seldom hear
You craft a love I cannot veer
But on the streets you push away
And I can't escape, I can't escape
So you are falling like a shining star
So you are falling down
What do I know, What do I know?
What do I know, What do i know?
What do I know, What do I know?
What do I know, What do i know?
The lyrics to Humble Braggers' song "Do You Know Anything?" explore the uncertain feelings and fears that arise when developing a romantic connection. The opening lines "Tell me how I should act again, Am I treating you like friend" suggest that the singer is questioning their behavior and unsure if they are conveying their true feelings to their romantic interest. They fear getting too close and the potential consequences that may come with it.
The chorus, "So you are falling like a shining star, So you are falling down" adds a sense of urgency to the situation, implying that the singer's romantic interest is quickly slipping away. Despite this, the singer still struggles to understand their own emotions with the repetition of "What do I know?" throughout the song, emphasizing their confusion and insecurity.
The second verse adds a layer of complexity to the situation, with the romantic interest seemingly sending mixed signals. "With solemn words to seldom hear, You craft a love I cannot veer, But on the streets you push away" suggests that the romantic interest may not be fully committed, and this further complicates the singer's emotions.
Overall, the lyrics of "Do You Know Anything?" convey the complicated and uncertain nature of developing a romantic connection, from questioning one's own behavior to navigating mixed signals from the other person.

The intro is incredible, that guitar riff and electronics are totally cool.
Plus the drums set a good tempo.
I think the lyrics work well with the instrumental too.
I expect this track to be popular eventually.
Keep touring new places, the concerts I saw at the waiting room downtown buffalo were rad.
Too bad I didn't go to the recent one in Rochester.
"How it starts" should be a mad popular track too.
