Although already one of the leading DJ lights in the new slightly left of centre world of dance music, Hyper really does seem to have taken on a life of its own over the last 6 months.
The process of recording 'We Control' lead to the formation of Hyper, the band. Joining Hyper (Guy Hatfield) and production partner Ronnie in collaborations on this record are Leeroy Thronhill (ex Prodigy), Wildchild (LA rapper), US Breakbeat superstars The Crystal Method, Jim Davies (Pitchshifter), Dirty Harry (infamous UK rock chick and Tommy Lee collaborator), MC Xander and Kieron Pepper.
Starting out based around samples and ideas from bands such as Killing Joke, Adam & The Ants and even Anti-Nowhere League, the album mutated naturally into a living breathing LIVE production.
In 2011, Hyper will release another full length artist album, titled 'The Panic'.
He began his active career under the name of Hyper in 1999 when he released Blaze It Up (12")

Instead of yourself
You're fucked
Anytime you're playing music for the crowd
You're fucked
Anytime you're playing music for the crowd
You're fucked
Anytime you're playing music for the crowd
Instead of yourself
You're fucked
You're f—
You're f—
You're f—
You're f—
(You're f—)
(You're f—)
(You're f—)
The lyrics of Hyper's song FCKD convey the message that artists should not compromise their artistic integrity or change their music to cater to the taste of the audience. The repetition of the lines "Anytime you're playing music for the crowd, instead of yourself, You're fucked," emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself as an artist. The use of the expletive "f---" throughout the song, adds a sense of urgency and highlights the severity of the situation, as if to say that if you compromise your artistic vision, you are essentially "f---ed".
The lyrics can be interpreted as a warning against the commercialization and commodification of music, where artists may feel pressured to create music that is palatable to a wide audience and guarantee financial success. The song urges artists to prioritize their artistic vision and create music that is authentic and genuine, rather than creating music that conforms to the expectations of the audience. In this regard, the song can also be seen as an encouragement to artists to trust their instincts and not let the opinions of the audience or the industry dictate their creative process.
Overall, the lyrics of FCKD can be seen as a call to action for artists to embrace their individuality and prioritize their artistic integrity, rather than conform to the expectations of the audience or the industry.
