Using an apostrophe on the plural form of a single letter is fine, but NEVER fall into the trap of using one with acronyms or other sets of letters.

For example:

“I wash RVs”, not “I wash RV’s.”
“I learned my ABCs”, not “I learned my ABC’s.”

All you have to do is leave the s uncapitalized or use a smaller one.

I could be wrong (if I am someone please correct me!), but from what I understand it goes like this:

1. "Those robots are my sister's." The narrator is saying the robots belong to his sister, Lucy.

2. "Those robots are my sisters'." The narrator is saying the robots belong to both of his sisters, Lucy and Lucille (this is where your preferred style comes in. Either sisters' where you are using the single apostrophe as possessive and contractive or sisters's which is just possessive).

3. "Those robots are my sisters." The narrator is saying the robots are his actual sisters as in relatives. An example of what the sentence becomes from removing the apostrophe.

Number two can be tricky so to put it another way, I love a manga series called Girls' Last Tour. In it, two girls (plural) go on their (possessive) last tour of the world. Like the video states, it's generally frowned upon but it technically could be titled Girls's Last Tour based on preference.

I have also seen the apostrophe used within dialogue to designate that a character is quoting someone. As in "Yeah, yeah," Bill groaned, "I know. 'Don't push the blue button.' Like I'm not reminded every day!" I hope that usage catches on. It looks much more neat than using quotes again, and it reduces confusion in the reader since the quotes dont seem to close.

I’d highly appreciate if you could tell a little more about pronunciation of the S that stands after the word which ends with S. I’d like to know if the PRONUNCIATION of the S is still necessary even in case we DON’T WRITE it. For instance, is it correct to say “doctorses rooms“ even if it is written as “doctors’ rooms”
