Caesar
I Blame Coco Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'm going to enjoy it
And merely 'cause we're bored
Merely because we're bored.
'Cause all you do is hope
You're all fucking hopers
And it's the Lord of the Flies all over again
Now who holds the shell will be Caesar
You can even have it written on your t-shirt
Now who holds the shell will be Caesar
You can even have it written on your t-shirt (Here we go)
King of the hopers will fall
We're gonna knock down the walls
Singin' the Caesar will fall
We gonna knock down his doors
I've heard it all before
And I chose to ignore it
There's someone at your door
There's somebody at your door
Prepare for the test
We'll all get infested
Now it's the Milgram device all over again
It's the Milgram device all over again
Now who holds the shell will be Caesar
You can even have it written on your t-shirt
Now who holds the shell will be Caesar
You can even have it written on your t-shirt (Here we go)
King of the hopers will fall
We're gonna knock down the walls
Singin' the Caesar will fall (We gonna knock down his doors)
We gonna knock down his doors
Hey, Caesar
Yo, Coco
'Ello, geezer
Hey, momma
Can you fly?
Yup
I've heard robins can fly
Whatever
Huh?
We're gonna knock down the walls
King of the hopers will fall
We're gonna knock down the walls
Singin' the Caesar will fall
We're gonna knock down the walls, knock down the walls
King of the hopers will fall (We're gonna knock down the walls)
Singin' the Caesar will fall (Knock down the walls)
I'm going to enjoy it
The song "Caesar" by I Blame Coco is a political statement about the power dynamics and corruption within society. The lyrics talk about the desire to rebel against authority and to knock down the walls that have been put up by those in power. The song portrays the feeling of boredom and discontent among the youth and the urge to create chaos just because they can. The lines "I want to annoy, and I'm going to enjoy it" and "merely because we're bored" highlight the aimlessness and disillusionment of youth who have lost faith in their leaders.
The lyrics also mention the Milgram experiment, which was a study that examined obedience and authority. The reference to the Milgram device being used "all over again" implies a sense of history repeating itself, where people blindly obey those in power without questioning their motives or actions. The use of the Lord of the Flies metaphor amplifies the idea of anarchy in society where those in power are the ones who manipulate and use the masses.
The chorus of the song talks about power dynamics and how those who hold the shell will be Caesar. The shell refers to the symbol of leadership in the Lord of the Flies, where whoever holds the shell is in control. This symbol is used metaphorically to represent those in power in society. The song urges people to rebel against the Caesar, the one who holds power, and to knock down their doors and walls.

Her voice sounds so similar to her father's, it's awesome. :D She will be a huge star soon. She just gave a concert in Poland a few days ago and people say it was incredibly good. :)

17 year old me adored this song.
Today, 30 year old me, FINALLY remembered the name of the song - THIS song - that has been playing in my head all week.
Still a banger

I <3 Coco. Her voice has an essence of her father's in his 80's days. Love it!

When I need the underground to pulse with quality electro-pop, I call on Robyn. When I need that voice that haunts, I look to Coco. The two together makes everything come alive. This makes my soul feel like its boiling. I love it!
