One more time for me
One more time for this
Bigger than small
Crushed under it all
Dress me down
One more time for humiliation
Smaller than small
Crushed under it all
I'm on my last legs
Can't stand this fact or fiction
I'm on my last legs and I'm going insane
Suck it up
Hide your face away
Throw it back
Make it go away
Or take it back
Before I fall
Time to waste it all
The lyrics to Idiot Stare's song "Humiliation" depict a feeling of being overwhelmed and crushed beneath societal expectations and pressures. The repetition of "One more time for me" and "One more time for humiliation" hint at the idea of enduring repeated cycles of humiliation or shame. The lines "Bigger than small, crushed under it all" and "Smaller than small, crushed under it all" create a contrasting image of feeling both insignificant and overwhelmed at the same time. The singer is struggling to cope with this pressure, feeling like they are "on their last legs" and going insane.
The lines "Suck it up, hide your face away, throw it back, make it go away, or take it back" suggest various methods people use to cope with shame or humiliation. These methods could include denying responsibility, avoiding the situation, or seeking retaliation. However, the line "Before I fall, time to waste it all" suggests that the singer is running out of options and may resort to self-destructive behavior.
Overall, the lyrics to "Humiliation" speak to the universal experience of feeling shame and humiliation, particularly in a culture that values perfection and success above all else.
