2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Above The Night
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I guess I should be glad I even got a second chance
I played you like a fool without acknowledging the pain
You made no sound but still you always stayed
And when the darkest of clouds took away my light
I held on to you and you stopped me from falling
Above the night you are always there
Above the night, your patience is timeless
Above the night I find you there
As I stumbled from one mistake into another
And all the while, You never told me so
How could you be so kind to someone so unattached
I'm still amazed you didn't tell me where to go
And It's not your fault that I repeat my crimes
No It's not your fault the way I am sometimes
And It's not your fault that I repeat my crimes
No It's not your fault
I can be... Mindless, reckless, shameless, heartless
Mindless, reckless and I'm sorry baby
The lyrics of "Above the Night" by Incognito feat. Natalie Williams are about the comfort and support provided by a person who has been forgiving and patient despite the singer's repeated mistakes. The song begins with the singer acknowledging their faults and how they played the other person like a fool, without acknowledging the pain they caused. Despite this, the other person remained by their side and provided support, especially during times of darkness when the singer felt like they were falling. The chorus repeats the phrase "above the night," highlighting that the other person is always there, deeper than the darkness, and their patience is timeless. The singer acknowledges how they have stumbled into one mistake after another, and the other person has never said anything negative. Despite the singer's behavior, the other person has been kind and supportive, which is remarkable. The song concludes with the singer confessing the things they tend to do wrong when they are mindless, reckless, and heartless but apologies for their behavior.
Overall, the song is a tribute to the person who has consistently been there for the singer, despite the repeated mistakes and how the singer tends to take them for granted. The repetition of "above the night" in the chorus emphasizes the unwavering strength of the person's support and how it is beyond the darkness in the singer's life. The lyrics suggest that the singer has learned from their mistakes and acknowledges how lucky they are to have someone who is patient and non-judgmental by their side.

"THE DEFINITION OF NEO-SOUL"
Neo-Soul is a timeless musical genre that fuses real instrumental, Jazz, contemporary R&B and 1970s-style soul, funk, and rock with some elements of hip-hop. As it's name (new soul) implies, Neo-Soul music is essentially modern-day soul music, with contemporary attitudes and sensibilities. It differs from contemporary R&B in that it's organic and obviously more soulful, and it also tends to have deeper messages and meanings than R&B.
