2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Did We Really Ever Try
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Or was it just a game that sometimes people play?
Did we really ever see eye to eye, I wonder?
Was it just a game that sometimes people play?
[Sometimes people play]
I wonder if
We ever listened
That the other had to say
All that we shared
Our inner treasures
Are used against each other as we fall
Chorus
I wonder if
Before we started
We could have known
That the road would end this way
What makes us give
Our hearts so freely
Only to find that we're strangers after all
Chorus
Night and day, night and day, day and night
Night and day, people play, day and night
We fool ourselves
Into believing
Our difference will surely change in time
So we proceed
Blissfully blinded
Throwing caution to the wind along the way
The song "Did We Really Ever Try" by Incognito is a reflection on a failed relationship, and asks the question whether the two individuals involved actually made an effort to understand each other, or if it was all just a game that people sometimes play. The lyrics are introspective and melancholic, with the singer wondering if they could have done something differently to prevent the heartbreak. The chorus repeats the sentiment of questioning whether they really tried or if they were just fooling themselves, emphasizing the feeling of regret and self-blame.
The lines "All that we shared, our inner treasures, are used against each other as we fall" suggest that the two individuals were once close and shared deep personal insights, but they later turned on each other, using this knowledge as ammunition in their disagreements. This adds to the sense of sorrow and disillusionment in the song, as the singer feels like they opened up too much, only to be hurt in the end.
The third verse mentions how people "fool ourselves into believing our differences will surely change in time", possibly referencing how the couple may have ignored or dismissed their disagreements and hoped they would resolve themselves. The final lines "throwing caution to the wind along the way" imply that the couple's downfall was partly due to their reckless abandon, and their refusal to recognize warning signs.
Overall, the song is a poignant portrayal of heartbreak and regret, with an emphasis on introspection and questioning one's actions and motives.
