2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Don't Break Me Down
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As we try to match each other blow by blow
The days go by but nothing's changed
We simply patch the surface of what lies below
On any given morning
Yesterday's smile may just have been replaced
From somewhere without warning
Break into my consciousness.
Break into my silence
But don't break me down
Break into my loneliness.
Do it with some tenderness
Don't break me down
It would hurt for me to know
That I could never change your heart or mine
It's easier to let it go
But that's an option that I'm likely to decline
The truth is understanding
That everything has a time and a place
A chapter could be closing
As an opening door your saving grace
The lyrics to Incognito Feat. Vanessa Haynes's song Don't Break Me Down seem to be about a couple experiencing difficulties in their relationship. They are trying to work things out by communicating and being honest with each other, but they are also afraid of being hurt or breaking down emotionally. The first verse talks about how they are both trying to fight for their own feelings without really listening to each other. They are not making any progress, just trying to fix things on the surface while ignoring deeper issues. The second verse talks about the fear of not being able to change or save the relationship, but also the fear of letting go. However, the chorus is a plea for tenderness and understanding. The singer wants to be heard and understood, but not broken down in the process. They are looking for a way to create a deeper connection, but not at the expense of their own well-being.
Overall, the lyrics are quite powerful and emotional. They speak to the experience of many people who have struggled in their relationships, trying to communicate and be heard, yet always fearing the worst. The song also has a hopeful message, suggesting that even if things don't work out, there is always a new beginning waiting.
Line by Line Meaning
Tears well up and words exchanged
Emotions rise and we start to argue
As we try to match each other blow by blow
We're competing to see who can hurt each other more
The days go by but nothing's changed
Time passes but we're not making any real progress in our relationship
We simply patch the surface of what lies below
We're only fixing the superficial issues and ignoring the deeper problems
On any given morning
At any moment
Yesterday's smile may just have been replaced
You might not be as happy as you seemed yesterday
From somewhere without warning
Without any prior indication
Rain clouds appear on sunny days
Problems arise unexpectedly
Break into my consciousness.
Enter my mind
Break into my silence
Make me speak up
But don't break me down
But don't hurt me
Break into my loneliness.
Come into my life
Do it with some tenderness
Be gentle with me
Don't break me down
Don't cause me pain
It would hurt for me to know
It would be painful for me to acknowledge
That I could never change your heart or mine
That we cannot change how we truly feel about each other
It's easier to let it go
It seems easier to move on
But that's an option that I'm likely to decline
But I might not be able to choose that path
The truth is understanding
The reality is realizing
That everything has a time and a place
That everything happens for a reason
A chapter could be closing
A phase of our lives may be ending
As an opening door your saving grace
And a new opportunity may be what saves us both
