2. Not only this Smooth Jazz band shares same band name, they have a song called "Millenium"(2006) that is exactly same title (intentionally misspelled) as the other Incognito's (Jazz Funk) song on their album "100° and Rising"(1995), plus the logo resembles in font. The title "Every Day"(2006) on the album Street Smarts exactly alike in titles (when read) with the other Incognito's famous tune "Everyday"(1995). They are often tagged totec radio. Also mis-tagged by fans as bluey where there's no link to Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick himself. r00ts & t4lk1n l0ud tags also used, that could mislead fans to the Bluey's famous tunes like "Roots" & "Talkin' Loud".

Living Against The River
Incognito Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Your curses freeze mid air, the bus is late
You`ve got to get to work on time, your job is on the line
Soon you`ll start again, the same routine
Deep inside your mind, the dreamers dream you`ll find
As the day is long, it keeps you moving on
Trying to stay ahead as best you can
Sweep away the notion of a revolution
Do it for yourself
[Chorus]
(There`s no stoppin`)
(Living against the river)
Do what you do what you do
(Got to keep pushing)
(When you`re living against the river)
Do what you do what you do
As the light begins to fade and you`re heading back for home
Your head is hanging low, you`re feeling blue
From the corner of your eyes, under neon lights you see
The old man in the snow with worn out shoes
Sweep away the notion of a revolution
Do it for yourself
[Chorus until fade]
The song "Living Against The River" by Incognito paints a vivid picture of the struggle and determination of a working-class individual. The song starts off in the early morning as the singer steps into the cold and curses as the bus is running late. The stakes are high as the character needs to get to work on time, his job is on the line, and so he goes through the same routine every day. However, deep inside his mind, he keeps the dreamers' dream alive, which helps him to keep moving on during the long day. The chorus emphasizes the idea of continuing to push forward despite the obstacles, living against the river as it were.
The second verse takes place during the evening commute starting back home. The character is feeling down, and his head is hanging low. Suddenly, he sees an old man in the snow with worn-out shoes under the neon lights, which puts things in perspective. The chorus repeats once more to encourage people to continue to push ahead, even when they feel like they are living upstream.
This song seems to represent the idea that individuals must consistently push against the current, as the system is generally set up against people. The song evokes a sense of determination to achieve your dreams and goals, to fight against the odds to better your life.
