Take Me Home
Iron Maiden Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's been so long, we've missed you,
Been searching for honor and glory
Out in the dark I have fought for survival
As thunder and gunfire were roaring
Back home, the time and the place of
My own my future is calling I know
I must return from my deadly sleep
The only chance I've been given - my destiny
Take me home, take me home
Black as a hole is the soil I was walking
As black as the troops were before me
Relentless attack as my eyes started bleeding,
Get razed to the ground by the soaring
It's time, you better be leading me home
Our future is calling I know
I am the answer to all the remaining unknown
I must return from my deadly sleep
The only choice I've been given, - my destiny
Take me home
Roaring, embracing the thunder
Twisting and turning around
Locked in I will not go under
Save me before I will drown
I must return
Take me home - take me home
Take me home - take me home
Take me home - take me home
Let me go - let me go
Back to my home, back to the people I know
Out in the cold but where can I go I don't know
Where can I go I don't know
Come and take me home
The lyrics to Iron Maiden's song "Take Me Home" tell the story of a soldier who has been away on a mission, fighting for survival in the dark, as the sounds of thunder and gunfire roared around him. After all the time spent away, he longs to return home to his family, friends, and a place of his own. The soil he was walking on is black, and the troops before him were black as well, alluding to the darkness and danger he experienced on his journey. He speaks directly to someone, asking them to take him home because he doesn't know where else to go.
The soldier reflects on the relentless attacks he faced and the bloodshed he has witnessed. He urges the person leading him to guide him home, where his future awaits him. He believes that he is the answer to all the remaining unknowns, suggesting that he has a purpose for being back in his homeland. The soldier wants to go back to where he belongs, back to the people he knows, even if he has to face the cold.

Iron Saviour actually isnt that bad of a band really. Just because its not iron maiden doesnt mean you have to hate it or dont listen to it. You have to admit when you thought this was iron maiden you were like ohh hell yes I wanna learn this or see them play this and what not. A song is a song no matter made by who it will sound good and touch and reach others so you all can suck it. Iron Maiden is still better but you gotta give props to Iron Saviour for makin this

So where did this Iron Maiden thing start? The only reason I'm here is because this song was included in a Maiden discography I got and discovered while cleaning it up. It's fucking beast so I'm glad it was thrown in by accident :D

Around 1988 me and a mate used to refer to Helloween as an Irony Maiden wanna be band. I suppose we weren't too far off. Dr. Stein grows funny creatures Lets them run into the night They become great rock musicians And their time is right

This song is mistakenly named as Iron Maiden - Take me home. But this mistake is very old! I remember I've download this song with this name in 2004 using Kazaa. If you don't know what Kazaa is, probably you're too young.

This goes back along time. Think I first saw this song named like this during the good ol´Napster days. So its probabbly the same clip still going around the web.
