Still Water
Irons Lyrics

We all scratch at the walls,
Trying to get some kind of grip,
In hopes of finding our way out of the fog,
And have our eyes be graced by the vivid brightness,
The beauty that lies outside the boundaries.
This docile valley struggles to breathe,
Void of reality,
And complexed by depression,
The water still rises just as a string section,
This music for the first time has hit my ears,
This never changing life,
I must erase,
Determination gleaming in my eyes like tears,
I believe this is the first time I've seen my real face,
Please believe,
Let your true colors be your guide,
For you are the only resident of your mind,
Together lets escape these still waters,
Let this current flow no more,
Turn out it's light and shut the door

Hey Michael, I have been following you for a while. Your reviews are perfect. We would like to see you reviewing on the course more often with shot tracers.

I find i525 interesting. Very little offset and forgiving enough and made in LH/RH with a good shaft. I will try these.

Michael M

Interesting that you’re praising the gapping from your results despite the 9-7 being roughly 35yds, even after dismissing the mishits. The 7-5 gapping is 25yds, which I consider acceptable, especially when we are not talking ‘scoring irons’.

I personally like 10-12 yds between PW-7 for each iron as I want precise & consistent distances for scoring. Maybe Ping would allow a progressive set mixing the “traditional” lofts with std or Power lofts in a set to achieve that goal. I would at least hope so due to construction being cast 17-4, which is not very malleable.

Appreciate the review but personally if I were shopping in this player’s distance catagory, I’d think the Mizuno 225, P770, T100S, ZX5/7 and X Forged CB would be higher up on my list for aesthetics, sound and value given their authentic forged construction

Looks like a nice iron again from ping, I would be interested if there is an option to mix the set with the i59 for the lower iron and then these for the longer iron

You can always combo as you please, any golf shop should be able to do it for you.

I’ve got a set of i500s that I’m very pleased with and look great. I like the clean lines that look a bit like blades. Don’t like this new design and don’t know why they decided to change it.

The i500 kinda sound awful for something that says forged on them but they look pretty decent

I play i210s so I like Ping irons but the more reviews I see of these the more I get concerned. They are pretty irons, but so are their competitor irons. They are expensive and it does appear from Michael's numbers that gapping is going to be an issue from 7i to PW mainly due to the 5 degree difference in loft between the irons from 7i to PW (7i-8i is 4.5 degrees), that feels a little to big a difference in loft. Michael had a 37 yard difference between 7i and 9i and even if you adjust for quality of strike that is going to be a 30-35 yard difference which is too much.

Conclusion: nice but not special and overpriced

Michael M

Completely agree. I wonder if one can order a progressive set mixing the ‘traditional lofts’ with standard and power lofts to achieve a more suitable gapping. The cast 17-4 heads are not going to take well to adjustment in loft and/or lie thus much better to order desired angles new than attempting to adjust.

Love your reviews and always tune in to get your view point....But for me manufactors of golf club who spend all the time and money to improve the heads and then strengthen the lofts, don't prove to me that there is any difference of better then the previous models club...Why not improve the heads and face and keep the same lofts??? Makes me looking elsewere....Thanks Michael and Keep Safe...
