Itamar Assumpção was one of the biggest names and contributors in the Vanguarda Paulista ("São Paulo Vanguard/Avant-garde" in English), an alternative scene that dominated São Paulo in the very late 70s and the first half of the 80s. This movement united artists who operated involuntarily outside of the established commercial music industry during an era that pre-dated the Internet, the politics of downloading and the contemporary indie music scene. The "Vanguarda" was responsible for launching many new talents and establishing a foundation for autonomous, self-sufficient music production (and subsequent release) by artists such as Arrigo Barnabé and Grupo Rumo.

Me obriga à mais cruel solução
Chega pra lá Luzia, ainda vou desfilar
Tetracampeão Luzia, porta estandarte

The song "Luzia" by Itamar Assumpção is a sarcastic and confrontational critique of a person named Luzia. The lyrics depict a conversation between the singer and Luzia, who is portrayed as someone who talks a lot but doesn't say anything meaningful. The singer is tired of Luzia's empty words and hypocrisy and expresses their frustration.
In the first verse, the singer dismisses Luzia's attempts to appear clean and innocent, stating that they are not interested in listening to her or accepting her lies. The singer also mentions Luzia's desire to deny the problems in Brazil, sarcastically referring to her as a "black razor," possibly indicating that she is trying to whitewash or hide the country's issues. The singer questions Luzia's intentions, accusing her of being a lure for tourists or a target for the police, and wonders where her cunning and astuteness have gone.
The chorus of the song voices the singer's demand for Luzia to stop with her nonsense and empty talk. The repetition of the phrase "Deixa de conversa mole" emphasizes the singer's annoyance and exasperation with Luzia. The singer threatens to physically harm Luzia if she continues with her meaningless words and fake harmony, claiming that they will "disarrange her face" and resort to violent solutions. This aggressive response suggests deep frustration and a desire to put an end to Luzia's behavior.
In the second verse, the singer questions Luzia's idea of harmony, sarcastically asking what kind of harmony she desires when all she does is annoy and complain. The repetition of the phrase "só chia só chia" further emphasizes the annoyance and irritation with Luzia's constant whining. The singer expresses their frustration by stating that they may resort to cruel and cowardly actions, descending into the basement of cowardice but still willing to physically confront Luzia.
The bridge in the song introduces the criticism of Luzia's family, mentioning her mother's warning about her possibly being a bad influence or a thief, adding to the singer's disappointment and disillusionment. This suggests that Luzia's behavior and nature may have been inherited or influenced by her family.
The outro of the song features repetitive phrases like "Lero, lero" and "chega de conversa lero," which can be interpreted as mocking Luzia's meaningless chatter. The repetition and intensification of these phrases reflect the singer's growing impatience and frustration. The song ends with a final plea for Luzia to stop with her empty talk, once again emphasizing the singer's desire for an end to Luzia's behavior.
Overall, "Luzia" is a critical and confrontational song that portrays the singer's frustration with a person named Luzia, who is depicted as someone who talks a lot but doesn't say anything meaningful. The lyrics highlight the singer's desire for an end to Luzia's empty words and hypocritical behavior, and even express a willingness to resort to violence to put a stop to it.
