JFA was formed around March of 1981. Pendleton, then in the band The Deez and Cornelius, then in the band Jr. Chemists, knew each other from shows around Phoenix, Arizona and from skateboarding. They began playing together after a D.O.A. concert during the band's Hardcore 81 tour. Bam-Bam later joined after meeting Pendleton at an "Industrial Dance" in Phoenix, and bestowed the moniker on the band, which is a reference to his second-cousin's, John Hinckley, Jr., attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan.
The band's first show was opening for Black Flag at an Industrial Dance which was one of a series of early Phoenix punk shows. Their first song of the night was Pipetruck.
Placebo Records released their debut EP "Out Of School" in late 1981. The band toured the west extensively and played many local shows. Their first national tour was in the summer of 1983 following the release of their first album "Valley ot the Yakes".

Sadistic Release
JFA Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Then I got a uniform it looks real neat
Drafted into the nazi police
Looking for a sadistic release
I'll cruise the streets looking for trouble
When I find it I'll make it double
Bash some heads spray some mace
Kick your ribs kick your face
In the sun
With my gun
I'm having fun
I'll crash your party turn in out
Twist your arm until you shout
Gimme a chance and I'll use my gun
Trashing people is so much fun
The lyrics of the JFA's song Sadistic Release portrays an individual who is a former thug on the street and is now a part of the Nazi police force. He enjoys his role as a law enforcer as it gives him the opportunity to exercise his sadistic tendencies. He takes pleasure in tormenting and hurting people, randomly attacking them and using his gun to intimidate them. The song goes on to describe the thug's mindset, which is to seek out people and make their lives miserable. He revels in his acts of violence and sees them as a form of entertainment.
This song highlights the darker side of human nature and how people can be corrupted when they are given a position of power. The lyrics reflect the brutality of the Nazi regime and serves as a commentary on the abuse of power. It is a reminder that those who are given the task of protecting citizens can sometimes be the ones that pose a danger to them.
