JFA was formed around March of 1981. Pendleton, then in the band The Deez and Cornelius, then in the band Jr. Chemists, knew each other from shows around Phoenix, Arizona and from skateboarding. They began playing together after a D.O.A. concert during the band's Hardcore 81 tour. Bam-Bam later joined after meeting Pendleton at an "Industrial Dance" in Phoenix, and bestowed the moniker on the band, which is a reference to his second-cousin's, John Hinckley, Jr., attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan.
The band's first show was opening for Black Flag at an Industrial Dance which was one of a series of early Phoenix punk shows. Their first song of the night was Pipetruck.
Placebo Records released their debut EP "Out Of School" in late 1981. The band toured the west extensively and played many local shows. Their first national tour was in the summer of 1983 following the release of their first album "Valley ot the Yakes".

We know you suck
JFA Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I hate your face I see it too much
I hate trendys 'cause they're dumb
And plastic chicks that don't even cum
We know, we know we know, we know you suck
I hate Phoenix boring place
Narrow-minded people fucking waste
So why don't you just fucking die
The lyrics "We know, we know we know, we know you suck" by JFA's song We know you suck can be interpreted in a few different ways. One way is that the lyrics are directed at individuals who the singer and likely their peers feel are inferior or less valid in some way. This could refer to people who are too mainstream ("trendys"), fake ("plastic chicks"), or have annoying personalities that the singer is forced to constantly deal with ("I hate your face I see it too much"). These individuals are essentially being told that they suck and are not worth the time or energy to deal with.
Another interpretation is that the lyrics are not just about certain individuals, but a larger societal commentary. The line "I hate Phoenix boring place" could refer to the general dissatisfaction with one's environment or hometown which is a common feeling expressed in many punk songs. The following line "Narrow-minded people fucking waste" could also be read as a critique of society as a whole for being closed-minded and not open to different ideas or people. The overall message of the song could then be seen as a call to action to "rip it up" and destroy what they see as a stagnant and oppressive society.
