V rokoch od rozpadu skupiny Cream v roku 1968 vydal Bruce množstvo sólových albumov, väčšinou v experimentálnejšom duchu, a spolupracoval so širokou škálou hudobníkov v mnohých žánroch. Na zozname sú Robin Trower , Tony Williams , John McLaughlin , Carla Bley , Allan Holdsworth , Ringo Starr a Frank Zappa . Bol tiež členom kapely West, Bruce and Laing .
V roku 1994 vydal album pod názvom kapely BBM (Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker a Gary Moore) s názvom Around the Next Dream.

Jack Bruce Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Tides turn so fast
Days make me wonder
Who will come last
My name was Runnin' Wild
My heart was Fancy Free
Now I'm like a cryin' child
Lost in a mystery...
Back in the old times
Used to burn slow
Now as I get there
I have to go
Times, I mean good times
They've blown away
Into the futures
Now called yesterday
Times...
The lyrics of Jack Bruce's song "Times" are deeply reflective and poignant. The opening lines, "Times make me lonely, Tides turn so fast, Days make me wonder, who will come last," convey a sense of melancholy and uncertainty. The passage of time is being personified by Bruce, as it is an ever-changing force that inevitably transforms one's life.
Further on, Bruce's refrain: "My name was Runnin' Wild, My heart was Fancy Free, Now I'm like a cryin' child, Lost in a mystery" illustrates how life has been challenging for him. There's a sense of regret and a longing for the past. The use of the present tense for these lyrics adds immediacy and highlights the fact that Bruce is still grappling with these feelings of uncertainty and vulnerability.
As the song progresses, it's clear that Bruce feels as though he is running out of time. He reflects on how things were different in the past when time seemed to move more slowly, and how he is now struggling to keep up with the pace of change.
In sum, the song is about change, the passing of time, and the accompanying emotions that these experiences can create. Bruce's lyrics are reflective and insightful, highlighting how we all grapple with the inevitable changes that come with the passage of time.
